Vietnam Begins Registration For 2025 High School Graduation Exam

Candidates can register online until April 28, with exams scheduled for June 26 and 27.

Starting today, April 21, 2025, candidates across Vietnam are officially registering for the high school graduation exam of 2025. This significant milestone, mandated by the Ministry of Education and Training, requires all candidates to register online, with the deadline set for 5 p.m. on April 28, 2025.

The high school graduation exam is scheduled to take place over two days, June 26 and 27, 2025. Students currently in the 12th grade can log in to the Ministry of Education and Training's exam management system at thisinh.thitotnghiepthpt.edu.vn to complete their registration. Meanwhile, free candidates will utilize their VNeID electronic identification accounts to access the National Public Service Portal for the same purpose.

It's important to note that any information submitted by candidates attempting to register between April 15 and April 18, 2025, is no longer valid. Therefore, during the official registration period from April 21 to April 28, candidates must log in and re-enter all required information according to the ministry's regulations.

In preparation for the upcoming exam, candidates will need to complete several important steps. On June 25, 2025, they are required to report to their designated exam rooms to finalize procedures, rectify any errors, and familiarize themselves with the exam regulations and schedule. Additionally, June 28, 2025, has been designated as a reserve exam day.

This year's exam presents a unique situation as there are two distinct groups of candidates. One group will take the exam according to the 2018 general education program, while the other will follow the 2006 general education program. Candidates from the 2006 program will be assigned to separate exam locations to ensure an organized testing environment.

For those who have completed the general education or continuing education program in the year of the exam, registration must be done online. Candidates can declare their online profiles at the electronic information portal specified by the Ministry of Education and Training and must submit original or copies of supporting documents to receive any applicable preferential treatment.

For candidates unable to register online, they can submit their applications directly. This involves filling out the registration form in accordance with the template provided by the Ministry and submitting it to the designated registration location along with copies of any necessary documents to support their claims for preferential treatment.

Candidates who belong to the remaining groups will also register online using their VNeID accounts. After completing their online registration, they must print the downloaded registration form in two copies and submit them to the registration site, along with any supporting documents needed to verify their eligibility for preferential treatment.

As for the documentation required for registration, candidates must provide several items. This includes the exam registration form, valid certificates for any preferential treatment, and a recent 4x6 photo taken in the style of an ID card or citizen ID card. The photo must be taken no more than six months prior to the application submission.

Additionally, candidates who have completed the general education or continuing education program but have not graduated from high school in previous years must include a copy of their high school transcript. Those who already possess a high school diploma and are taking the exam to use the results for future admissions must submit a copy of their diploma.

If a candidate has an intermediate diploma and is taking the exam for admission purposes, they need to provide a copy of that diploma as well as a copy of their study book or transcript of high school cultural subjects, as outlined by the Education Law and current regulations from the Ministry of Education and Training.

Moreover, candidates may also need to present a certificate of preserved scores, if applicable. This certificate can be issued by the principal of the high school where the candidate took the exam last year or by the Department of Education and Training if the candidate took the exam in a different province.

Regarding the subjects for the graduation exam, candidates must register for three tests: Literature, Mathematics, and one self-selected test. The self-selected test can consist of two subjects chosen from the following options: Physics, Chemistry, Biology, History, Geography, Economic and Legal Education, Informatics, Industrial Technology, Agricultural Technology, and Foreign Language. Candidates are allowed to select a foreign language subject different from the one they are currently studying in high school.

For candidates who already hold a high school diploma or an intermediate diploma and are taking the exam solely for admission purposes, they are limited to registering for exam subjects based on their preferences. However, for the self-selected test, candidates can only choose a maximum of two subjects.

The registration process for the 2025 high school graduation exam is crucial for students as it marks a significant step toward their educational future. With the deadline approaching, candidates are urged to ensure that their applications are complete and accurate to avoid any complications on exam day.
