Oasi Park Celebrates 60 Years With Charity Book Launch

The event featured Maurizio Battista and a commitment to support clean water initiatives in Uganda.

On March 25, 2025, Oasi Park di Don Bosco in Rome became a vibrant testament to memory and celebration as it marked its 60th anniversary. The highlight of the day was the presentation of the book "A spasso nel parco," which reminisces about the park's rich history. In attendance was the guest of honor, renowned comedian Maurizio Battista, whose charisma and humor perfectly matched the jubilant atmosphere of the event.

This unique book showcases anecdotes, historical photographs, and firsthand testimonies from three generations dedicated to the park. David Melandri, a family member of the park's founders, passionately expressed, "Fare questo e farlo attraverso la nostra storia – credo sia il miglior modo per ricordare due persone speciali come erano mamma e papà." His words resonate deeply with the audience, reflecting on the legacy of love and joy oozing from the park.

Alongside Melandri, Juri Trombetti, president of the Urban Planning Commission for the Municipality of Rome, emphasized the socio-cultural importance of such recreational hubs in urban settings. "These oases of happiness are vital for the city's fabric and the healthy growth of children,” Trombetti stated during his speech, encapsulating the park's integral role in the community.

For over six decades, Oasi Park has stood as a beloved landmark for families in Rome. It offers safe spaces for children while providing attractions and events designed to ignite a sense of wonder. But beyond mere entertainment, the park has been a beacon of charity and community spirit.

The Melandri family announced that "A spasso nel parco" will be distributed free of charge with an additional call to action for donations to the charity "Il Caprifoglio Onlus." This association has long collaborated with the park to extend help to those in need, specifically in Uganda. With every book received, readers are invited to support community-building efforts.

One prominent initiative, the "Pozzo nonno Ugo" – a vital water supply project commemorating the park’s founder – is set to be inaugurated in Uganda next week. This project demonstrates the significant impact that a local park can exert internationally, bridging the gap between communities as it delivers clean water to those who need it the most.

As the sun set over the lively Oasi Park, it was clear that this celebration was more than just about amusement rides and games. It served as a reminder of the interconnectedness of joy and responsibility, inviting everyone to reflect on what a thriving community means.

The book and information on making donations can be found on the official Oasi Park website: www.oasipark.it. Join in this endeavor – a small gesture can create a tremendous impact, celebrating a story rich in history and hope, extending far beyond the borders of Rome.

Meanwhile, Maurizio Battista will continue to captivate audiences with his show "Only Maurizio" at the Teatro Alfieri in Turin on March 25th and 26th, further showcasing his journey through life with a blend of humor and introspection. Battista, known for his unique storytelling style, has created a magnificent fusion of personal experience and light-hearted philosophy.

This dual celebration of laughter and charity illustrates the vibrant spirit of community—an echo of the mission shared by Oasi Park and those touched by its legacy. As laughter fills the air in Turin, so too does the call for action resound from the heart of Oasi Park. Together, they represent an enduring commitment to joy and social responsibility.
