The Maringá City Council announced today the launch of the 'Jovem Digital' program, which aims to provide free training for young individuals aged 14 to 29. This initiative, managed by the Department of Youth, Citizenship, and Migrants, along with the Maringá Agency of Innovation and Technology (AMTECH), offers valuable resources for those eager to enter the digital job market.
Beginning on February 28, 2025, young people can pre-register for various courses, including Digital Marketing, Basic 3D Printing, and Customer Service Enhancement for E-commerce. These classes are entirely free and are intended to equip participants with the necessary skills to succeed professionally.
Sandra Franchini, the Secretary of Youth, Citizenship, and Migrants, emphasized the program's objectives, stating, "Os cursos são totalmente gratuitos e têm como objetivo capacitar os alunos para o mercado de trabalho, oferecendo qualificação técnica de alta qualidade e com certificação pelo Senac." This translates to "The courses are completely free and aim to train students for the labor market, offering high-quality technical qualifications with certification from Senac." Her words highlight the commitment of Maringá's government to fostering the skills of its youth.
The courses are structured to not just teach technical skills but also to prepare participants for the demands of the digital economy, which is continuously growing. Each course has specific requirements; for example, the Digital Marketing course requires participants to be at least 14 years old and have completed fundamental education. It consists of 60 hours of classes conducted from April 1, 2025, to April 28, 2025, on weekdays from 7 PM to 10 PM at the upper floor of the Terminal Urbano located at Avenida Tamandaré.
The Basic 3D Printing course is set to be offered but does not yet have specific dates. Students aged 14 and older can participate, and the course comprises 28 hours of instruction scheduled on weekdays from 8 AM to 12 PM. Meanwhile, the Customer Service Enhancement course for E-commerce is available to those aged 16 years and above who possess basic computer skills. This course will run from March 17, 2025, to March 26, 2025, on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 9 AM to 12 PM.
To enroll, interested candidates must complete the pre-registration through the online form, which can be accessed via the Department of Youth's social media outlets. The pre-selection process will prioritize candidates who fulfill specific criteria, including those enrolled in the Cadastro Único and those with family incomes under three minimum wages.
