Starting May 1, 2025, significant changes will be implemented in the ferry schedule at the Świnoujście crossing, a decision made based on insights from previous years when the number of passengers and vehicles notably increased at the beginning of May. Beata Olszewska from the Świnoujście City Hall stated, "In the morning and afternoon-evening hours, when the most people or vehicles use this form of transport to the other island, additional courses will be introduced compared to the current schedule." The new schedule will see two ferries operating from 5:40 AM to 8:30 PM, aimed at improving efficiency and comfort for both residents and tourists flocking to Świnoujście during the May holiday weekend and throughout the summer months.
In addition to the ferry schedule, public transport passengers will also experience notable changes starting May 1, 2025, due to the completion of the reconstruction of the intersection of provincial road No. 719 with Brwinowska Street and the introduction of new timetables and a new bus line No. 35. These alterations are designed to enhance punctuality and better connect with the Mazovian Railways trains. On April 29, 2025, bus line 17 will return to its original route, heading towards Grodzisk Mazowiecki via Grodziska Street and departing from the Brwinów Grodziska / Sportowa 02 stop.
The new bus line No. 35 will connect Książenice with the Brwinów railway station, providing a daily service approximately every hour. This line will strategically arrive at the stop about eight minutes before the train departs to Warsaw and will leave Brwinów for Książenice approximately nine to ten minutes after the train from Warsaw arrives. This adjustment is expected to significantly improve public transport accessibility in the region.
Alongside the introduction of line 35, timetables for lines 16, 17, 45, 67, and 69 will also be altered. Lines 16 and 17 will arrive at Grodzisk Mazowiecki station around seven to eight minutes before the train to Warsaw departs and will leave towards the Teligi estate approximately ten minutes after the train from Warsaw arrives. Meanwhile, lines 45, 67, and 69 will have their schedules synchronized with train arrivals in Brwinów.
The changes are not merely coincidental; they aim to improve the coordination and reduce waiting times for passengers. On shared routes, passengers can expect better synchronization of schedules, which will allow buses to run alternately, thus shortening wait times. This applies to connections between lines 16, 17, and 45, as well as between lines 67 and 69, and lines 17 and 67, among others.
The implemented changes represent a significant step toward a more punctual, integrated, and accessible public transport system in the region. Passengers can look forward to not only more convenient transfers to trains but also shorter wait times and improved scheduling, especially during weekends and holidays. Detailed information about the new routes and timetables will be available for download, ensuring that all users are well-informed.
As Świnoujście prepares for the influx of visitors during the May holiday weekend, the adjustments in both ferry and bus services reflect a commitment to enhancing the travel experience for both residents and tourists. The local authorities are optimistic that these changes will lead to smoother operations and increased satisfaction among users of public transport.
In conclusion, the upcoming changes to the ferry and bus schedules in Świnoujście and the surrounding areas signal a proactive approach to managing increased demand during peak travel times. By focusing on efficiency and connectivity, local officials aim to provide a better travel experience for everyone involved.
