West Bengal Class 12 Results Set For Announcement Today

Students can check their scores online after 2 PM following the press conference.

The West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE) is set to announce the results for the Class 12 Higher Secondary (HS) examinations on May 7, 2025, at 12:30 PM. This announcement will take place during a press conference at Vidyasagar Bhavan in Salt Lake, Kolkata. Students who appeared for the exams can expect to access their results online starting at 2 PM the same day through the official websites wbchse.wb.gov.in and wbresults.nic.in.

The HS examinations were conducted from March 3 to March 18, 2025, and over eight lakh students participated this year. The WBCHSE will also release key statistics during the press conference, including the total number of students registered, those who appeared, the overall pass percentage, and the names of the top-performing students across districts.

Students will need to enter their roll number and date of birth to access their results. The process is straightforward: visit the official result portal, click on the designated link for the HS result, and input the required details. Once submitted, the results will be displayed on the screen, allowing students to download and save their provisional marksheets for future reference.

In addition to online access, students can also check their results via SMS. To do this, they must type "WB12 [roll number]" and send it to either 5676750 or 58888. This option ensures that students without reliable internet access can still receive their results promptly.

For those eager to collect their official mark sheets and certificates, these will be available from their respective schools starting May 8, 2025, at 10 AM. Schools have been instructed to distribute these documents on the same day of collection, ensuring that students have the necessary paperwork for further education and admissions.

In 2024, the results showed a notable gender gap in participation, with 91,838 more girls than boys taking the exams. The gender ratio stood at 56% female to 44% male, reflecting a positive trend in female enrollment in higher secondary education across the state. Last year, 58 students from 15 districts secured positions in the top 10, with Hooghly district leading with 13 toppers, followed by Bankura with nine, Dakshin 24 Parganas with seven, and Kolkata with five.

To pass the WBCHSE Class 12 exams, students must score a minimum of 30% in each subject. Those who do not meet this threshold may be placed in the compartment category or declared fail, depending on their overall performance. The grading system for the WB HS results is as follows: A+ for scores between 80-100, A for 60-79, B for 45-59, C for 30-44, and D for those scoring below 30.

As the clock ticks down to the result announcement, students are advised to keep their roll numbers and date of birth ready, as there is no facility for name-based searches. This policy is in place to maintain the privacy and integrity of students’ academic records.

With anticipation building, the WBCHSE is also expected to release additional information regarding the performance of minority students, who had a pass percentage of 86.97% last year. This data will shed light on the educational landscape in West Bengal and highlight areas for improvement.

For those looking to access their results, the following steps will guide them through the process:

  • Visit the official result portal: wbresults.nic.in or wbchse.wb.gov.in.

  • Click on the link for “Higher Secondary Examination Result 2025.”

As the results approach, students are reminded of the importance of their performance for future academic pursuits. The results will not only reflect their hard work but will also play a crucial role in their applications for higher education institutions, be it in engineering, medicine, or other professional courses.

In summary, the WBCHSE is set to declare the Class 12 results on May 7, 2025, at 12:30 PM. Students can check their results online from 2 PM onwards.
