Vietnamese Language Festivals Boost Cultural Exchange And Education

Educational events draw Cambodian students to learn Vietnamese and celebrate local culture.

On February 26, 2025, the Minh Khai Elementary School will host the Math and Vietnamese Language Festival for elementary pupils, part of the District Education and Training Department's initiative involving various local schools. This event, aimed at students from grades 3 to 5, will feature competitions including team introductions and knowledge questions in both mathematics and Vietnamese.

The organizing committee encourages healthy competition among students to promote quality education and local cultural exchanges. Each team has the option to showcase their community's culture and share their objectives for participating at the beginning of the event.

Students will tackle 30 questions, segmented by grade levels, involving both multiple-choice and written responses. The interaction provides students with practical applications of their language skills, reinforcing their learning within a collaborative environment.

At the conclusion of the festival, awards will be presented to the top-performing schools, effectively motivating students to work hard and enjoy their educational experience. These awards will also determine which three schools will participate at the district level very soon.

Meanwhile, another significant event unfolded on February 24, 2025, as Tra Vinh University inaugurated its second Vietnamese language course for Cambodian students during the 2024-2025 academic year. This initiative marks another milestone in international educational collaborations and reflects the university's commitment to offering quality human resource training, particularly to Svay Rieng province, Cambodia.

Notable guests included Vice Provincial Governor Nhem Sary and other officials, who acknowledged the importance of this course for Cambodian students. Tra Vinh University aims to provide these students with improved access to industry-specific training, emphasizing the role of the Vietnamese language as a bridge enhancing the friendship between Vietnam and Cambodia.

During the opening ceremony, Vice President of Tra Vinh University, Dr. Thach Thi Dan, highlighted the institution's strive to create favorable learning conditions, ensuring students can integrate successfully and develop their knowledge and skills. The program aims to encourage not only academic performance but also personal growth within the international education framework.

Nhem Sary expressed gratitude for the commitment shown by Tra Vinh University. He acknowledged the importance of fostering educational opportunities for Cambodian students, especially within the health and education fields. His remarks underscored the growing collaboration between Vietnam and Cambodia, which they hope will create even more opportunities for future students.

To celebrate the beginning of this new educational chapter, the university distributed meaningful gifts to the attendees, symbolizing encouragement and support during their studies.

The opening of this course is anticipated to be the start of rewarding educational experiences for Cambodian students at Tra Vinh University. This initiative solidifies the school's active role in international educational cooperation and strengthens the solidarity bond between the two nations.
