Vietnam Prepares For 2025 National High School Exam

Registration opens soon, with guidelines for students to follow

As Vietnam prepares for the 2025 National High School Graduation Exam, students are gearing up for a pivotal moment in their educational journey. The registration process, which has been meticulously outlined by the Ministry of Education and Training (MoET), is set to commence soon, and it’s crucial for candidates to follow the guidelines to ensure a smooth experience.

The registration for the 2025 exam is not just a formality; it marks the beginning of a significant milestone for students across the country. This year, the registration period will officially open on April 21 and close at 5 PM on April 28, 2025. Students born in 2007 will also have the opportunity to participate in a trial registration from April 15 to April 18, 2025, which will help them familiarize themselves with the online system before the actual registration.

According to the MoET, candidates are required to submit a comprehensive registration file that includes several essential documents. These documents consist of a registration form, which adheres to the guidelines set forth in Appendix II of Circular No. 24/2024/TT-BGDĐT dated December 24, 2024. Additionally, students need to provide valid documents that prove their eligibility for any preferential treatment, a recent 4x6 cm portrait photo, and copies of their high school transcript and diploma.

For students who have graduated from intermediate schools, a copy of their intermediate diploma is also necessary. Moreover, those who have previously taken the exam but are now applying to retake it must include a certificate of mark preservation, which can be obtained from their previous educational institution or the local Department of Education and Training.

Once students have gathered their documents, the first step in the registration process is to access the online registration system at thisinh.thitotnghiepthpt.edu.vn. Candidates should ensure they have a stable internet connection and a suitable device, such as a computer or smartphone, to facilitate the process.

After accessing the website, candidates will need to log in. For 12th graders, this involves using their citizen identification number (CCCD) along with a login code provided by their school. Independent candidates can log in using the National Public Service account, entering their registration details as prompted.

Upon their first login, candidates will be required to change the default password to enhance the security of their personal information. The new password must consist of at least eight characters, incorporating uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters, such as "Duthi2025!".

Next, candidates will need to fill in their personal information and select their desired exam subjects. The mandatory subjects include Mathematics and Literature, while students can choose two additional subjects from a list that includes Physics, Chemistry, Biology, History, Geography, Economic and Legal Education, Informatics, Technology, and various foreign languages.

Once all information is entered, it is crucial for candidates to review their registration form carefully before saving it. After saving, they should print two copies of the registration form to submit along with their application documents. These documents include a copy of their CCCD, the 4x6 photo, and any documents that support requests for preferential treatment.

After completing the online registration, candidates must submit their paper applications at designated locations specified by the local Department of Education and Training. For independent candidates, it is necessary to have their registration form verified by the local police department before submitting it.

In addition to the registration timeline, the MoET has emphasized the importance of accuracy in the registration process. From April 28 to May 9, candidates will have the opportunity to review and correct any errors in their registration information. During this period, they can make unlimited corrections, which is crucial for ensuring that all details are accurate.

Moreover, candidates will have a chance to rectify any mistakes on the day of the exam procedure, which is scheduled for 2 PM on June 26, 2025, specifically for selection information. If any information was incorrectly entered during the registration phase, candidates can amend it on the afternoon of June 25, but they should be cautious as these changes may take time to process.

As the exam approaches, students will be participating in the first graduation exam conducted under the 2018 General Education Program. This program introduces a new structure, requiring students to take four subjects total, including two mandatory and two elective subjects.

The official exam days are set for June 26 and June 27, 2025, marking a significant transition for students who have been studying under the revamped curriculum. The new format aims to better align educational outcomes with the needs of the modern workforce and higher education institutions.

In summary, the 2025 National High School Graduation Exam represents a critical juncture for Vietnamese students. With the right preparation and adherence to registration guidelines, candidates can navigate this process successfully. As they gear up for this important exam, the Ministry of Education and Training encourages all students to stay informed and proactive in their preparations.
