Ukraine's affordable housing program 'єОселя' is making strides toward aiding families affected by the war, with 856 families securing loans amounting to 1.5 billion UAH so far this year. This progress was shared by Andrey Telyupa, the Deputy Minister of Economy, who emphasized the favorable conditions of the program for those wishing to improve their housing situations.
During the past week alone, 108 housing loans were disbursed, totaling 197 million UAH. Telyupa noted, "The 'єОселя' program has favorable conditions for all Ukrainians wishing to improve their housing conditions. The program continues to be accessible and beneficial, especially for various classes of citizens." This includes military personnel, doctors, educators, scientists, and their family members, who benefit from reduced interest rates.
The housing loans are structured to support the most affected demographics, with interest rates set at 3% for those serving the nation. Specifically, last week, 45 military personnel and law enforcement officials received loans at this preferential rate. Other beneficiaries included 3 medical professionals, 5 educators, and 2 scientists. The program also addresses the needs of veterans and internally displaced persons, offering loans at 7% interest to 43 Ukrainians without their own housing, 9 IDPs, and 1 veteran.
Loan distribution shows significant regional activity, with the highest number of loans issued within the Kyiv region, followed by the capital city, Kyiv. Recent figures indicate loans issued as follows: 38 loans granted in Kyiv region, 26 within Kyiv, and 6 each for Vinnytsia and Lviv regions. Lesser but notable numbers were recorded from Ivano-Frankivsk, Odesa, and Khmelnytskyi, where 4 loans were issued per area.
Of the loans provided during the last week, 53 were for newly constructed properties, with 19 of these under construction. Meanwhile, 55 loans were dedicated to secondary market housing, indicating the growing demand for diverse housing solutions.
Since the onset of the war, the Ukrainian government, through the 'єВідновлення' program, has compensated citizens with up to 18 billion UAH for housing damaged or destroyed during the conflict. This effort is part of broader restoration strategies aimed at stabilizing the nation's housing market and aiding those affected by the devastation of war.
With the 2025 targets now outlined, 'єОселя' remains one of the cornerstones of Ukraine's post-war recovery efforts, aiming to restore dignity and housing stability to its citizens. The program reflects comprehensive planning and support from the government, striving to meet the housing needs of various communities throughout Ukraine.
