Ufa Faces Severe Traffic Jams Amid Parade Rehearsal

Traffic congestion reaches 8 points as city prepares for the Victory Parade rehearsal.

Ufa is currently experiencing severe traffic congestion, with delays reaching 8 points as of 4:00 PM on May 7, 2025, according to data from Yandex.Maps. The heavy traffic is particularly noticeable on Oktyabrya Avenue, where a section has been closed for the general rehearsal of the Victory Parade. This closure has created significant bottlenecks, affecting several key streets in the city.

Traffic jams have also been reported on Bessonova, Komsomolskaya, 50 Let Oktyabrya, Richard Zorge streets, and Ufimskoye Highway. The congestion is expected to continue until the rehearsal concludes at 9:30 PM. With the city’s main thoroughfares blocked, drivers are advised to plan their routes in advance and consider alternative paths.

The closure of Oktyabrya Avenue, specifically from Shafiev Street to Kolskaya Street, is a direct result of the preparations for the Victory Parade. This event is a significant occasion in Russia, commemorating the victory in World War II, and it necessitates extensive rehearsals that inevitably disrupt normal traffic flow.

As reported, the Minister of Transport of the Republic, Lyubov Minakova, acknowledged the inevitability of traffic jams in Ufa due to the high volume of vehicles on the road. "Road demand and traffic jams are inevitable," she stated, highlighting the challenges faced by commuters during such events.

In addition to the immediate traffic issues caused by the parade rehearsal, Ufa is preparing for upcoming road repairs that could further complicate travel in the area. Starting June 3, 2025, repairs on the bridge across Urshak near the village of Bulgakovo will commence, lasting until mid-August. Radiy Khabirov, the head of Bashkiria, indicated that complete avoidance of traffic jams in this area is unrealistic, given that up to 44,000 cars pass through daily.

To mitigate the expected congestion, two detour routes have been proposed. The first route goes through Dubki, Sikhonkino, Olkhovoe, and Mokrousovo, while the second route takes drivers through Zubovo, Nizhegorodka, Osorgino, and Yangalyshevo. These alternative paths are designed to help alleviate some of the traffic pressure during the repairs.

The public is encouraged to stay informed about the traffic situation and to utilize available resources to navigate the congested areas effectively. As the rehearsal for the Victory Parade continues, Ufa residents are reminded to remain patient and to adapt their travel plans accordingly.

In summary, Ufa's traffic jams, exacerbated by the Victory Parade rehearsal, are a reminder of the impact that large-scale events can have on urban mobility. With road repairs on the horizon, it’s crucial for drivers to stay updated and consider alternative routes to minimize delays.
