The Tribunal de Justiça do Rio de Janeiro (TJ RJ) is gearing up to launch a new public service exam, expected to be announced by July 2025. This eagerly anticipated selection will offer positions for both middle and higher education levels, catering to a variety of specializations.
According to the latest updates, the positions available will include the role of Judicial Activity Technician, which requires complete secondary education, and several specialized roles for Judicial Analysts, who must hold a higher education degree. The confirmed specialties for the Judicial Analyst position include a range of fields such as Psychology, Social Work, Accounting, and various Information Technology (IT) roles, such as systems analysts and data engineers.
The announcement for the exam was signed on March 31, 2025, by the president of the Court of Justice of Rio de Janeiro, Judge Ricardo Couto de Castro. This decision comes after a thorough evaluation by the People Management Secretariat, which highlighted a significant personnel deficit across multiple areas of the tribunal.
"The last exam held for civil servants was in 2020, but it was suspended for over a year due to the pandemic," said a spokesperson from the tribunal. Originally, the exam aimed to fill 160 vacancies, but due to changing circumstances, that number was adjusted to 132. The exam was eventually republished in 2021, and the immediate opportunities were distributed across various administrative regions, including major cities such as Rio de Janeiro, Niterói, and Petrópolis.
The new exam will consist of both objective and essay tests, with the possibility of title analysis for higher-level positions. Starting salaries for Judicial Technicians will be R$5,685.54, which includes a basic salary along with Judicial Activities Gratification and the Judicial Standard Additional (APJ). For Judicial Analysts, the starting salary will be R$9,363.84, also inclusive of these benefits. Notably, those in the Execution of Mandates specialty will receive an additional monthly allowance of R$3,242.58 for locomotion.
Moreover, the tribunal offers various benefits such as food assistance amounting to R$1,526.56, health assistance of R$1,260.02, and daycare assistance of R$1,550.15. There are also additional bonuses for qualifications, which can add up to 15% more to the salary for those holding advanced degrees.
The selection process is designed to be comprehensive, including stages such as objective tests, essay tests, title evaluations, and medical and psychological examinations. However, it is important to note that the tribunal reserves the right to exclude some stages based on their discretion.
In preparation for this upcoming exam, the tribunal has already established a contract with the AOCP, which will serve as the organizing body for the selection process. This contract was initially set for the exam for the Judicial Analyst position in the IT sector, but with the expansion of the exam to include other roles, the tribunal has not clarified whether the contract will be adjusted or if a new organizing body will be appointed.
For those aspiring to secure a position within the judicial system, the TJ RJ 2025 exam is seen as a prime opportunity. The last exam, which took place in 2020, was organized by Cebraspe and consisted of 60 questions for both levels of positions, divided into general knowledge and specific knowledge categories.
As candidates prepare for the new exam, they are encouraged to review the content from the previous exam, which included questions on topics such as Portuguese language, ethics in public service, and various aspects of law, including administrative and constitutional law.
The competition is expected to be fierce, given the lucrative salaries and the stability offered by public service roles. Candidates are advised to stay updated on the latest developments regarding the exam and to begin their studies in earnest.
The tribunal is organized into 11 administrative regions, ensuring that vacancies are available in a wide range of locations across the state. Cities such as Volta Redonda, Campos dos Goytacazes, Nova Friburgo, Cabo Frio, Teresópolis, Angra dos Reis, and Itaperuna will also have opportunities for aspiring candidates.
In summary, the upcoming TJ RJ exam represents a significant opportunity for those looking to enter the judicial workforce in Rio de Janeiro. With the announcement expected soon and preparations already underway, potential candidates should seize the moment to enhance their study efforts and prepare for this important career step.
