Toronto Man Wanted For Series Of Car Dealership Burglaries

Authorities urge public assistance as break-ins raise security concerns among local businesses.

A man from Toronto is currently wanted by police for allegedly breaking and entering at several car dealerships across North York. The string of break-ins occurred between December 29, 2024, and January 12, 2025, primarily around the Keele Street and Steeles Avenue area, prompting police to respond to multiple calls from concerned property owners.

The suspect, identified as Lajos Galamn, 24, is accused of forcing entry and systematically targeting car dealerships. During these incidents, he reportedly stole car keys, vehicles, and license plates, raising significant concerns about security among local businesses and residents.

Lajos Galamn is described as being five-foot-eight with a thin build, short brown hair, and possessing a tattoo of the word "family" on the left side of his neck. His photograph has been released to the public as authorities seek assistance from anyone who may have information on his whereabouts. He faces multiple charges, including three counts of break-and-enter with intent as well as theft under $5,000.

“As police investigate these crimes, they have urged the community to be vigilant and report any suspicious activity. They stated, 'Anyone with information is asked to contact investigators', emphasizing the need for public cooperation to prevent such incidents from happening again,” remarked the report from the Toronto police.

The break-ins have alarmed many local car dealerships, where managers are now re-evaluing their security measures. “It’s unsettling to know someone is targeting our businesses,” one dealership manager noted. “We’ve always felt safe here, and now there’s this fear hanging over us.”

Police continue to investigate and are encouraging dealership owners to implement stronger security protocols, including enhanced surveillance systems and monitoring during off-hours to deter potential thieves.

Residents and business owners alike are reminded to remain alert and to report any unusual behavior around their premises. The incident has sparked discussions on neighborhood safety and the need for community vigilance against crime.

This series of events serves as a stark reminder of the importance of local law enforcement efforts and the significant role played by community participation. With collaboration between police and the public, it is hoped the suspect will be apprehended swiftly, allowing businesses to regain their peace of mind.
