Toni Bou Wins 19th X-Trial Title, Securing His 37th World Championship

The legendary trial racer cements his status with yet another title in Cahors, France, continuing his unparalleled dominance in the sport.

Toni Bou, the iconic Spanish trial motorcycle racer, added another accolade to his already illustrious career when he secured his 19th X-Trial World Championship title in Cahors, France, on March 22, 2025. This remarkable achievement brings his total count of world titles to 37—an impressive testament to his dominance in the sport.

After a challenging start to the season, where he finished second in the inaugural event in Madrid, Bou bounced back with five consecutive victories leading up to the pivotal race in Cahors. Arriving at the Parc des Expositions with a commanding 36-point lead over his closest rival, Jaime Busto, Bou needed only one point to mathematically seal the championship.

"From 2007, when I joined the Repsol Honda HRC team, I have managed to win every world title I have competed for, becoming the leading figure in this sport," Bou commented, reflecting on his extraordinary career.

This victory represents yet another milestone in Bou's career, as he climbed to the podium for the 106th time in his 109 participations, showcasing not only his skill but also unparalleled consistency with his Montesa Cota 4RT. His team celebrated the achievement, highlighting his 18 titles in the outdoor TrialGP as evidence of his unprecedented dominance in both indoor and outdoor trials.

Currently, Bou is looking towards the final event of the indoor season, which will take place in Tallin, Estonia, on April 26, 2025. Despite having already claimed the championship, he aims to further enhance his legacy with an additional victory.

Since his debut with the Repsol Honda team, Bou has redefined success in motorcycle trials, securing an incredible number of wins that are unmatched in the history of the sport. His results, including triumphs in the prestigious Trial de las Naciones where he has claimed 19 titles representing Spain, underscore his status as a true champion.

Following his initial loss in Madrid, nobody could have predicted the remarkable turnaround that would see Bou return to form and dominate the rest of the season. The racer’s resilience and focus allowed him to capitalize on every opportunity, eventually sealing his championship title well before the final race.

With a spirited performance, Bou secured the second position in Cahors, vital for clinching the championship, finishing behind Busto, who racked up 14 points while Bou accumulated 15 in the event. This outcome allowed Bou to take to Tallin knowing he had already fulfilled his required points to finish the season strong.

Bou's unwavering dedication to the sport has inspired many and set a standard that future competitors strive to meet. Even with the recent retirement of one of his major rivals, Adam Raga, Bou remains focused on his goal of achieving his personal target—a record of 40 world titles by the time he turns 40 in 2026.

As the trial motorcycle community looks on, Toni Bou continues to solidify his narrative not just as a champion but as a monumental figure in sports history, exemplifying skill, determination, and an exceptional competitive spirit. His prolific career and upcoming targets promise to keep the thrill alive in the motorsport world.
