Tiphaine Auzière Balances Equestrian Passions And Career Challenges

The daughter of Brigitte Macron shines in equestrian competitions while navigating personal and professional hurdles.

Tiphaine Auzière, the youngest daughter of Brigitte Macron, is carving her path in both the equestrian world and the legal profession, showcasing her passion for horse riding and her dedication to her career as a lawyer. Recently, she participated in an equestrian competition in February 2025, organized by Villers Vicomte Jumping, marking a significant return to a sport she adores.

Auzière didn't just stop there; she also competed in a Grand Prix Amateur 2 (GP Am2) at the parc équestre du Touquet, where she achieved commendable results, placing fourth and fifth in two distinct courses. Riding her exceptional horse, Bonnie du Park, whom she lovingly described as "a chance to partner with this daughter of Kannan and granddaughter of Quidam de Revel. Bravo to our French breeders for producing such gems!" (Tiphaine Auzière). This competitive spirit is a testament to her lifelong passion for equestrian activities that have been momentarily overshadowed by her busy professional life.

However, 2025 has presented personal challenges for Auzière, primarily her recent separation from Antoine Choteau, the father of her two children. After 16 years together, their split, reported in January, was attributed to the increasingly complex demands of their schedules—especially with Tiphaine's rigorous commitments in Paris. A family source revealed, "Their schedules had become complicated to align between the North and Paris, with Tiphaine often busy with her legal career and her appearances on Touche pas à mon poste. But they parted without bitterness and remain on good terms." Maintaining a cordial relationship is critical for their children, Élise, age 11, and Aurèle, who is two years younger.

Tiphaine Auzière's multi-faceted life spans beyond just competitions and law; she is also engaged deeply in education and politics. Since 2017, she has worked as a lawyer, specializing in labor law and advocating for employee rights. In 2020, she founded the Lycée Autrement in Paris, a unique educational institution dedicated to breaking down regional educational inequalities. Commenting on the motivation behind this endeavor, she stated, "What we want is to identify talents and provide them with effective education without forcing them to leave their regions." Following the success of her Paris venture, a second Lycée Autrement opened in Étaples in 2021.

Her connection to politics is evident, as she has actively supported her stepfather, Emmanuel Macron, since 2016, leading the Pas-de-Calais support committee during his presidential campaign. Tiphaine even ran as a substitute candidate in the legislative elections, although she and her partner faced defeat against the incumbent. Despite this, her political engagements show her commitment to the ideals that her family represents.

On a more personal note, Auzière has always had a unique nickname for her stepfather, calling him "l'OVNI" (the UFO), a reminder of their initial meeting when she was just ten years old. Reflecting on public perceptions of Macron, she expressed concern: "It hurts when people present Emmanuel as the president of the rich. They don't grasp all he has done; we have a pedagogical issue around his actions." This sentiment highlights her dedication to debunking misconceptions and advocating for better narratives.

In addition to her professional and political ventures, Tiphaine Auzière has also stepped into the limelight as a commentator for the popular show Touche pas à mon poste. This platform allows her to discuss not only her legal opinions on pressing issues, such as crime and juvenile delinquents but also to promote her book, Assises. Her recent commentary included addressing transphobic rumors about her mother, Brigitte Macron, in a humorous yet pointed manner, saying, "I could show you my civil status, but it wouldn’t change anything," which captured attention for its wit and depth.

As Tiphaine navigates these various facets of her life—balancing her equestrian passion, legal career, political ties, and personal challenges—she showcases resilience and determination. Her journey is a testament to balancing personal aspirations with the expectations and realities of being in a family associated with France's political landscape.
