The Tennessee Titans are at a pivotal moment as they head toward the NFL Draft, seeking ways to bolster their roster, including assessing their offensive line and quarterback situation. With the offseason upon them, much of the chatter revolves around the Titans' need to improve their right tackle position, but attention must also be focused on enhancing the right guard spot.
Dillon Radunz is currently manning the right guard position, but his status is uncertain as he is on an expiring contract. Radunz was not the original plan for the Titans entering training camp. The team initially looked to Saahdiq Charles, who unexpectedly retired shortly after he joined the franchise during free agency. Radunz, drafted in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft, has faced criticism as he had been viewed as underachieving since his selection. Now adapting to guard, he is experiencing his best season yet, albeit still regarded as only average—a factor the Titans' new general manager, Ran Carthon, and head coach Brian Callahan need to address.
Fortunately for the Titans, the 2025 NFL Draft presents opportunities to secure upgrades, particularly with two selections inside the top 40 picks. Several promising prospects have emerged as viable replacements for Radunz. One potential target is Wyatt Milum out of West Virginia, who has primarily played offensive tackle but is expected to transition to guard at the professional level. Despite lacking the ideal arm length for tackle, Milum has showcased excellent movement skills and solid technique, making him an instant impact player.
Another candidate is Tyler Booker from Alabama, who is known for his bruising blocking style. A natural guard, Booker is recognized for overpowering defensive linemen and anchoring against pass rushers. His two years of starting experience at Alabama suggest he will not be intimidated as a rookie—an attribute the Titans desperately need.
Jonah Savaiinaea from Arizona is also on the Titans' radar. Often moved around the offensive line, Savaiinaea's versatility could serve the Titans well. Weighing 330 pounds, he possesses the physical attributes to excel inside and has proven effective at both tackle and guard positions. His athleticism is another selling point for scouts scouting offensive linemen.
While the offensive line remains a focal point, the Titans also face significant uncertainty at the quarterback position. With Will Levis and Mason Rudolph not showcasing themselves as long-term solutions, the franchise must evaluate how to add offensive weapons to support whoever is under center. Offensive assistance may come from the draft as well, particularly through targeting wide receivers.
Justin Melo, writing for Titan Sized, suggested Iowa State's Jayden Higgins as a potential sleeper pick for the Titans in the fourth round. Melo noted, "Are the Titans going to reunite Tee Higgins with Brian Callahan? Callahan's offense will need an offseason addition to play 'X' receiver next season." With 87 receptions for 1,183 yards and nine touchdowns this past season, Higgins lived up to expectations and stands tall at 6-foot-4 and 215 pounds, positioning himself as a formidable threat, especially during red zone situations.
Over the course of his entire college career, Higgins has demonstrated his ability to make significant plays, with total statistics boasting 227 receptions for 3,317 yards and 28 touchdowns. The Titans' interest here could lead to acquiring a huge-bodied playmaker capable of contributing immediately, especially if the team is unable to sign Higgins, who may be more expensive than anticipated.
Although Higgins might not appear as the flashiest option, he certainly possesses the potential to emerge as one of the gems of the draft—an ideal scenario the Titans must capitalize on, considering their need for depth and talent at the wide receiver position.
With the draft approaching, the Tennessee Titans find themselves facing key decisions on how to effectively rebuild and reshuffle their roster to compete. Prioritizing both offensive line improvements and enhancing the performance at the quarterback and wide receiver spots will be instrumental for the Titans aiming to turn their fortunes around. The choices they make now will ripple through the upcoming season, potentially defining their success or struggles moving forward.
