Suki Waterhouse Dazzles At 2025 Met Gala Without Robert Pattinson

The actress makes a stunning solo appearance while the couple enjoys a night out post-gala.

Suki Waterhouse has seemingly ditched her fiancé, Robert Pattinson, during the 2025 Met Gala fashion event. The 33-year-old American actress, who skipped last year's gala due to her pregnancy, is finally back on the blue carpet without her longtime partner. On Monday, May 5th, Suki attended the charitable event at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in a stunning Michael Kors outfit. The mom-of-one wore a black backless tuxedo-inspired two-piece gown that showed her physique. To elevate her look, she opted for diamond jewellery.

As reported by People, the 2025 Met Gala was co-chaired by Colman Domingo, Lewis Hamilton, A$AP Rocky, Pharrell Williams, and Anna Wintour. The fundraising event, whose honorary chairperson was LeBron James, is a fundraiser for The Costume Institute and spotlights the museum’s spring 2025 exhibition with the theme, "Superfine: Tailoring Black Style." However, Suki, who welcomed her first child in March 2024 with Robert, has not revealed the reason for making a solo appearance.

Suki Waterhouse and Robert Pattinson last attended the Met Gala in 2023, where they made their debut as a couple. At that event, Suki wore a stunning outfit from German fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld, while the Twilight actor donned a Dior suit with a pleated skirt on his trousers. The couple, who sparked romance speculations in July 2018, got engaged in December 2023, but they have not disclosed their marriage plans yet.

Robert Pattinson didn’t miss out on the Met Gala entirely. While the Twilight alum did not join his fiancé Suki Waterhouse for the gala, he met her after the event for a night out in Manhattan. The couple shares a 13-month-old baby girl, and although they did not pose for photos together at the gala, each was snapped separately at People’s saloon in New York’s West Village.

In one photo, Rob, 38, proved he’s in the partying mood as he walked into the venue’s mirrored room wearing a gray canvas shirt half unbuttoned, his hair tousled, carrying a beer. A separate photo shows Suki, 33, in a slightly toned-down version of the Michael Kors gown she wore to the gala, sporting an all-black suit along with a simple pair of black shades.

Suki Waterhouse shared with Zuri Hall on Live From E!: Met Gala 2025 that she stays out late on Met Gala nights. "Last year, it was, like, 6 a.m. and then I got on a plane afterwards. The parties are really good. And there are so many parties you can just hop around and go to, like, 10 different parties," she explained. However, she admitted that her and Rob’s little one may have kept them from staying out all night. "I have a baby now, so I have a feeling I'm not going to make it all that late," she said.

For his part, Robert Pattinson had previously given insight into how welcoming their baby girl had changed their lives, noting at the Dior Homme Menswear spring/summer 2025 last June that having a baby "makes you feel very old and very young." Ever the introvert, Rob may not mind that his daughter is letting him leave a party or two early. "It’s great," Rob added of being a dad. "I'm amazed by how quick their personality comes. You can kinda see who she is already."

The theme for this year’s Met Gala—“Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” a sartorial homage to Black dandyism—continued to inspire long after the red carpet rolled up. Celebrities including Lorde, Charli XCX, and Blackpink’s Jennie changed out of their sublime gala ensembles and into after-party looks that were comfortable, provocative, and delightfully unfiltered for a night of late-late merriment.

The after-party took place at People’s, a glamorous new cocktail lounge in Manhattan’s Greenwich Village, hosted by Ayo Edebiri, Janicza Bravo, Jeremy O. Harris, Tyler Mitchell, and Antwaun Sargent. From midnight to 4 a.m., the vibe was buzzy but unpretentious. Jeremy Allen White lounged on a velvet banquette with a group that included Suki Waterhouse, who wore an oversized blazer. Robert Pattinson joined soon after, dressed down in a button-down shirt and a jacket tied at the waist, sipping a beer and holding a mesh baseball cap.

At the bar, Andrew Scott—looking cool in a sleeveless red vest—chatted with Saturday Night Live’s Ego Nwodim. Nearby, under a greenhouse-style skylight, Lorde (in a new Thom Browne look) socialized in a corner booth with Julia Fox. Adjacent to them was Charli XCX, now out of her gothic Ann Demeulemeester gown and into ultrashort shorts and a crisp button-down. Eventually, she, Lorde, and Scott huddled together in a flurry of laughter, even making faces for a group selfie.

Later, Charli caught up with Pattinson and Waterhouse moments before the trio slipped out at 2:47 a.m. At 3 a.m., the party’s energy surged again. Edebiri arrived in oversized black trousers and a miniature hat, embracing Bravo with a long hug. Soon after, Blackpink’s Jennie entered in head-to-toe black and a matching pillbox hat. Then came Tessa Thompson, who immediately hit the dance floor as Madonna’s “Material Girl” pulsed through the speakers.

Also spotted were Natasha Lyonne, Tracee Ellis Ross, and Joey King. In a sweet moment, Jennie and Charli XCX reunited, and Jennie crowned Charli with her pillbox hat, prompting giggles from the pair. By 4 a.m., the crowd had thinned. Andrew Scott—last guest standing—stepped outside with friends, waiting in the rain for their cars and debating which after-party to hit next. Clearly, no one wanted the Met Gala’s magic to end.
