Reliance Jio Launches New JioTV+ App For Smart TVs

JioTV+ app brings access to over 800 digital channels and 13 OTT services with advanced features

Reliance Jio has recently unveiled its JioTV+ app, aiming to broaden the viewing experience for users by making it accessible across various smart TV platforms, including Android, Apple, and Amazon Fire OS. This app, previously exclusive to Jio's set-top box, now allows users to enjoy its features without the need for additional hardware.

The JioTV+ app offers access to over 800 digital TV channels, available across more than ten languages and covering 20 genres. Viewers can find news, entertainment, sports, music, business, and devotional content all within the app.

Among the highlights, the app boasts integration with 13 major OTT services such as JioCinema Premium, Disney+ Hotstar, and Sony LIV, streamlining access through a single sign-on. This means users only need one login to access all available channels and streaming platforms.

One of the appealing aspects of JioTV+ is its user-friendly features, including smart filters for content discovery and control over playback speeds. The 'Catch-up TV' function allows viewers to watch previously aired shows, ensuring they never miss out on their favorite content.

The app is also intuitive with personalized recommendations, enabling users to find channels and shows based on their viewing preferences. Parents can feel secure with the 'Kids safe' section, curbing what younger viewers can access.

To enjoy JioTV+, users need to download the app from their respective app stores, whether it's for Android TV, Apple TV, or Amazon's Fire TV. After installing, users simply enter the mobile number associated with their JioFiber or Jio AirFiber service and authenticate through OTP to start watching.

Nevertheless, this enhanced experience is limited to specific subscription plans: JioFiber and Jio AirFiber. Prepaid users should have plans starting at Rs 999, whereas eligible postpaid users need to choose at least the Rs 599 plan or higher.

Interestingly, Jio has introduced a 2-in-1 offer, allowing users to connect two TVs using just one Jio AirFiber connection. This move aims to provide seamless entertainment across households.

Reliance Jio's continuous push for innovation caters to the increasing demand for streaming content, reflecting their commitment to enhancing the viewing experience. Users can now enjoy diverse programming options without being tethered to traditional cable setups.
