On March 9, 2025, at 08:30 AM, Mr. Raksakdi Thienthai, the District Chief Officer of Mueang Ang Thong, presided over the opening ceremony of the project aimed at supporting and aiding impoverished households through integrated efforts. The project, which targets 25 households identified from the TPMAP village data of 2025 and selected using criteria outlined for 2024, aims to promote skill development and enable participants to improve their livelihoods.
This initiative, coordinated with the local Community Development Department, focuses on career advancement to help generate income for villagers. The event took place at the Samakhom Khon Phikarn Jangwat Ang Thong within the Tambon Sala Daeng district, where participants were engaged with training sessions on practical skills. These sessions include mushroom cultivation, supported by local expert Mr. Damrongchai Phu Suwan, and the processing of mushroom products, facilitated by Ms. Saowakajjana Naitnetr.
During the ceremony, Raksakdi Thienthai met with target groups to provide encouragement and guidance for their livelihoods. He emphasized the importance of fostering skills and building knowledge to promote social responsibility among participants, adhering to community enhancement strategies demanded by the Community Development Department.
Meanwhile, alongside this positive community impact, Puy L.G.H., known as Srisakul Samthong, expressed her concerns about online fraud impacting her community through the creation of fake Facebook pages. She stated, "ตอนนี้มีคนเอาชื่อผมไปสร้างเฟซปลอมหลายอัน แล้วก็เอาไปคอมเมนต์ ไปโจมตี ทำลายคนอื่น ... มีเครื่องกา / (ถูก) หลังชื่อนะครับ" which indicates her frustration over impersonators misusing her identity on social media.
Puy along with her supporters is eager to launch legitimate Facebook and Instagram pages to provide accurate representation and support for her community. She believes her efforts will create safe online spaces where people can communicate authentically and avoid misleading information propagated by fraudulent accounts.
The conflicting stories underline the dual challenge of fostering economic growth through initiative projects such as those championed by Raksakdi Thienthai, and safeguarding individuals from the threats posed by deceptive online practices. Each initiative emphasizes fundamental engagement with the community to nourish capability as well as the necessity of combatting misinformation.
With the local training projects underway and leaders assigning responsibilities for beautification and authenticity on social media, the residents of Ang Thong look forward to more sustainable income opportunities and protective measures against digital antagonism. The initiative founded on support and education stands as hope for the future, reversing some of the adverse effects current technology vulnerabilities impose on everyday life. To truly secure the future, communities need to balance economic initiatives with proactive digital literacy to safeguard themselves.
