Popular Show Lets Dance Returns With Jury Stability But Challenges Ahead

While Motsi Mabuse leads the jury again, scheduling conflicts may bring changes to this beloved show this season.

Since the end of February 2025, fans of competitive dance have welcomed back the popular show "Let's Dance". The first episode aired on February 21, allowing viewers to immerse themselves once again in the excitement of the series. This season's jury features well-known personalities familiar to loyal fans: Motsi Mabuse, Joachim Llambi, and Jorge González. With their combined experience, the jury evaluates the dance performances of various celebrities hoping to win the coveted title of "Dancing Star".

The hosts, Victoria Swarovski and Daniel Hartwich, return to guide audiences through the show's dramatic highs and lows. Swarovski took over the role from Sylvie Meis back in 2018, and the duo has become beloved by fans for their rapport and engaging presentation.

A total of 14 celebrity dancers compete this season, each paired with professional partners to undergo rigorous training and deliver compelling performances. Notably, the lineup includes personalities like comedian Osan Yaran, influencer Paola Maria, and entertainer Marc Eggers, all bringing their unique flair to the dance floor.

Turning the spotlight onto the jury, Motsi Mabuse has been synonymous with "Let's Dance" since her debut as a professional dancer back in 2007, where she achieved sixth place with Guildo Horn. Since joining the jury officially in 2011, she has become known for her vibrant personality and expert insight. Her influence extends beyond the German version of the show, as she is also part of the jury for the British "Strictly Come Dancing," where she has captivated audiences since 2019.

"Became popular for many, I couldn't leave the show at this point," Motsi once said about her stay. Recently, she even appeared as a turkey in the Christmas special of the British version, showcasing her spirited engagement with the audience.

Jorge González, originating from Cuba, has also cemented his status on the jury. After leaving his home country due to unacceptable attitudes toward his sexuality, he carved out a successful career as a model and choreographer. Having lived in Hamburg for over 20 years, González has been part of the jury since 2013 and has remained ever-present on various TV shows, often showcasing his stylish finesse.

Joachim Llambi, another key member, is known for his rigorous critiques. A former professional dancer himself, he’s been part of "Let’s Dance" since 2006, never shying away from offering tough feedback to contestants. His past career as a stockbroker adds another layer of insight to the show's judging.

Despite the strong lineup, fans might have to brace themselves for Motsi Mabuse's potential absence. Due to the overwhelming success of "Let's Dance," it overlaps with the "Strictly Come Dancing" schedule, leading to possible conflicts. The upcoming "Let's Dance" tour, running from November 2 to December 4, 2025, encompasses 24 shows across 18 cities. Such commitments could hinder Mabuse’s involvement, raising expectations about who might step in to fill her shoes.

Traditionally, Isabel Edvardsson has been the go-to replacement for Motsi during similar situations. With 13 seasons as a professional dancer on RTL's show, she has experience both on the dance floor and as a judge. Unfortunately, Edvardsson is currently on maternity leave after giving birth to her third child earlier this year. "I’m on break," she announced on social media, indicating her dedication to family first.

The excitement around "Let's Dance" continues to grow, but it appears early on this year may see some shifts as festival goers ponder how they'll enjoy the tour without their favorite juror present. Nevertheless, Motsi's unique perspective and dynamic presence have left indelible marks on the show, making both her absence and reappearance highly anticipated among dedicated followers.

Fans will know to stay tuned for updates on possible replacements as the show progresses - ensuring they don’t miss out on all the drama, joy, and perhaps, the heartbreak of saying goodbye to one of the show's treasured judges.

Through it all, "Let’s Dance" remains undaunted by schedule mishaps and continues its charm across generations of viewers eager to see who will take home the title of "Dancing Star" this season.
