Thailand’s Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP) is gearing up for STYLE Bangkok 2025, set to showcase the country’s vibrant lifestyle and fashion products. The event will take place from April 2 to 6, 2025, at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center in Bangkok, aiming to showcase the potential of Thai exports and attract international buyers.
With projections indicating export figures for Thai lifestyle and fashion brands to reach approximately $9.744 billion by the year 2024, the DITP sees significant growth opportunities. "Fashion and lifestyle products have gained recognition among entrepreneurs," stated Miss Sunantha Kangvalkulkit, Deputy Director-General of DITP, emphasizing the growing demand for these categories globally.
Thailand, known for its strong creative design capabilities and quality production standards, is also planning to position itself as the ASEAN hub for lifestyle and fashion exports. This strategic focus is intended to not only stimulate local industries but to also solidify Thailand’s place in the competitive international market.
According to projections, the export of lifestyle goods has expanded by 6.97%, and fashion exports have increased by 2.86%. The DITP is committed to nurturing this growth trend by facilitating opportunities for micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), as well as larger businesses. "We expect internal trade at the event to be valued at 1.6 billion baht and at least 25,000 visitors to attend," Miss Sunantha added.
Mr. Sunan Angubolkul, Chairman of the Thai Chamber of Commerce, shared insights on how changes to international trade policies, particularly from the United States, have influenced production shifts within the ASEAN region. He noted, "The promotion of soft power by the government is on the right track. Creating opportunities for Thai designers and entrepreneurs is key. Collaboration between new designers and those who are already established is equally important as we look to develop our design industry comprehensively.”
STYLE Bangkok 2025 will feature exhibitors from across the spectrum, providing attendees the chance to engage with Thai craftsmanship and creativity firsthand. The event is positioned as more than just a static exhibition; it serves as a dynamic marketplace where international buyers can connect with Thai artisans, designers, and brands.
The DITP's mission also appears to align with broader economic strategies focusing on sustainability and tech innovation within the creative sectors. Particularly as the event will showcase how integrating advanced technology can lead to more creative and diverse lifestyle products, the potential benefits for Thai manufacturers could be significant. Enhanced collaborations with regional producers seeking to innovate fashion and design are expected to fortify the country’s position as a leading exporter.
Importantly, STYLE Bangkok 2025 is not just limited to local audiences. The DITP emphasizes the importance of international participation. They are actively inviting foreign trade partners to explore the unique talents and products the Thai market has to offer.
This event stands to not only boost the visibility of Thai lifestyle and fashion products globally but also to create enduring partnerships within the international trade community. Collaboration with regional players will be imperative as Thailand aims to be viewed as the leading source for fashionable and lifestyle goods within ASEAN.
Given the growing global demand for high-quality, unique lifestyle and fashion products, some analysts express optimism about Thailand’s future as they continue to push for innovation within this sector. "The local designers are not at the mercy of global trends; they have the opportunity to define them,” Miss Sunantha concluded : to support the creative economy, to facilitate financial investment and to open doors for local talents to exhibit their prowess.
