Palmeiras Pursues Alexandro Bernabei For 2025 Roster

Club eyeing several key players to strengthen its lineup for next season.

Palmeiras is making aggressive moves to strengthen its squad for the upcoming 2025 season, showing interest in several notable players. Among them are current domestic talents Matheus Pereira and Paulinho, alongside the left-back Alexandro Bernabei, who is uncertain about his future with Internacional.

The club recently confirmed the signing of Uruguayan striker Facundo Torres, marking their proactive stance as they explore potential reinforcements. With negotiations already underway, the Palmeiras board is investigating the overall situation of prospective players and the financial requirements for successful transactions.

One of the intriguing candidates is Matheus Pereira, who has climbed the ranks significantly with his performances at Cruzeiro. Having showcased impressive skills throughout 2024, he even earned a spot on the Brazilian national team, with his transfer priced at around €12 million (approximately R$78 million).

Another name on the radar is Paulinho from Atlético Mineiro. Initially, Atlético Mineiro set the asking price at around €25 million (nearly R$162 million). Yet, they have since shown willingness to negotiate, especially following Palmeiras’ proposal of €18 million (about R$117 million) along with some player exchanges.

And then there’s Alexandro Bernabei, who has piqued Palmeiras’ interest. The left-back, who has been on loan from Celtic to Internacional, has made noteworthy contributions during his time. His current club situation is still uncertain, with Palmeiras considering him as part of their 2025 aspirations. His estimated cost is around €5 million (about R$32.6 million).

Another option includes Vilasanti from Grêmio, who, after initial discussions of non-negotiability, might become available for around €15 million (approximately R$98 million) if conditions are met.

Both the players under consideration reflect Palmeiras’ commitment to not only strengthening their team but also their strategic approach to transfer dealings. By keeping the budget and player potential closely monitored, the club aims to establish itself firmly next season.

Palmeiras has undoubtedly made strides with its recent activities. With potential signings like Bernabei, the club is inching closer to forming a competitive lineup for 2025, solidifying its intent to remain at the forefront of Brazilian football.
