Bhubaneswar: A record 3 lakh people have presented their views for the formation of Odisha Vision-2036 and 2047. It is a milestone in preparing a vision by taking the opinion of the common people in building a developed Odisha and a developed India on the basis of people’s opinion.
Chief Minister Mohan Majhi thanked the people of the state for their participation at a time when the participation of such a large number of people in the development of the state is a big step toward building a developed Odisha. Feedback has been submitted through various channels like email, WhatsApp, and the Odisha Vision website. Even Odias living abroad have contributed their opinions, marking this as a great example of governance based on partnership.
The Chief Minister expressed his gratitude, saying, "Thank you Odisha," recognizing the significant public involvement. A diverse group comprising students, women, professionals, government employees, eminent personalities, and various organizations has provided well-thought-out suggestions for the creation of a developed Odisha.
For the first time, the government has utilized AI technology to review the feedback. By doing so, the administration aims to incorporate the views of all participants to shape the roadmap for Odisha's future. This approach emphasizes the message of valuing every voice on the strategy-based plans being crafted for the state’s development. Technology-based strategies are key to progressing toward this vision.
Deputy Chief Minister Prabhati Parida and DCM Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo also expressed their appreciation to the citizens for their role, which shines as another example of collective effort toward achieving the objective of building a prosperous Odisha.
The government sought suggestions across 17 different sectors deemed necessary to strengthen the state’s infrastructure for development. The public’s feedback particularly focused on agriculture, rural development, sustainable mining, environmental protection, women's development, tourism enhancement, cultural heritage preservation, urban planning, and climate change adaptation.
While the centenary of Odisha’s formation is slated for 2036, it coincides with India’s own Independence centenary set for 2047. Chief Minister Majhi emphasized the importance of these events as they present significant opportunities for advancing the state’s development.
Majhi remarked, "Thank you Odisha for coming forward with valued inputs for shaping Odisha's future," highlighting the state’s ambition of realizing the goal of 'Viksit Bharat' (developed India) by 2047.
A senior official from the Chief Minister’s Office noted, “This innovative step underlines Odisha's commitment to utilizing cutting-edge technology for enhancing citizen-driven policymaking.” The examination of citizen suggestions is being conducted through the state’s Odisha vision citizen engagement platform, which has facilitated various stakeholders’ contributions.
The recommendations gathered encompass 17 key developmental areas and aim at establishing groundwork for sustainable growth, especially prioritizing agricultural advancement, rural development, improved irrigation systems, and market connectivity. Further priorities include environmentally conscious mining operations, community welfare projects, and support for women entrepreneurs.
The larger vision recognizes the need for gender equality initiatives and infrastructure for tourism development and urban modernization. The administration underscored the importance of disaster management and sustainable energy adoption as fundamental aspects of its strategy for the future.
The Chief Minister's Office emphasizes public involvement as pivotal for establishing Odisha as economically viable with social equity, positioning it to emerge as a leader in human development indicators.
