The Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi unveiled the Odia calendar for 2025-26 on April 13, 2025, during a ceremonial event at the sacred Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri. This calendar, also known as the Panjika, is a significant cultural artifact that marks the beginning of the Odia New Year, celebrated as Maha Visuba Sankranti or Hanuman Jayanti.

The unveiling ceremony took place in the presence of several dignitaries, including Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan, Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari, and Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja. The Chief Administrator of the Shree Jagannatha Temple Administration (SJTA), Arabinda Kumar Padhee, along with Puri Collector Siddharth Shankar Swain and Puri Superintendent of Police Vinit Agrawal, were also in attendance.

During his visit, CM Majhi expressed his joy after paying respects to Lord Jagannath and his siblings at the temple, stating, "I felt blessed after having darshan of the sibling deities at the 12th-century shrine." He emphasized the cultural importance of the calendar, noting that it serves not only as an almanac of Hindu festivals but also as a reflection of Odisha's rich cultural heritage.

The Odia calendar is priced at Rs 100, which includes the cover. This pricing was decided by the SJTA, and the calendars will be available for sale starting from the day of the unveiling.
