NTA Releases Provisional Answer Key For CUET PG 2025

Candidates can challenge the answer key until April 25, 2025, with a fee of Rs 200 per question.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially released the provisional answer key, question papers, and candidates' response sheets for the Common University Entrance Test for Postgraduate (CUET PG) 2025. This release comes after the exam was conducted across multiple dates from March 13 to April 1, 2025, providing students with the opportunity to review their answers and challenge any discrepancies they might find.

Students who participated in the CUET PG can now access the answer key on the official website, exams.nta.ac.in/CUET-PG. This year’s exam was notable for its extensive coverage, encompassing 157 disciplines, including popular fields such as Commerce, Law, Computer Science, and various languages, both Indian and foreign.

For candidates who believe that there may be errors in the provisional answer key, the NTA has provided an avenue for challenges. Starting from April 22 until April 25, 2025, candidates can contest the answer key by submitting a processing fee of Rs 200 for each question they wish to challenge. This fee is non-refundable and can be paid via various online methods, including Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking, or UPI. The window for payment extends until April 24, 2025, at 11:50 PM.

To challenge the answer key, candidates must follow these steps:

  • Visit the official website at exams.nta.ac.in/CUET-PG.

  • Click on the link for the CUET PG 2025 provisional answer key.

  • Select the answer key corresponding to their exam date and paper code.

  • Download and save the document for future reference.

Once challenges are submitted, a panel of subject experts will verify them. If a challenge is deemed valid, the answer key will be revised accordingly. The final answer key will then be used to prepare the results, which will be published on the NTA’s official exam portal. Importantly, candidates will not receive individual notifications regarding the acceptance or rejection of their challenges.

The CUET PG 2025 was conducted in a Computer-Based Test (CBT) format, with each shift lasting 90 minutes and featuring 75 objective-type questions. Each question carries four marks, but there is a penalty of one mark for incorrect answers. This year’s exam was bilingual, available in both Hindi and English, except for language-specific subjects.

Students are advised to keep their application number and password handy to access their results once they are announced. The expected cut-off marks for various categories have been estimated based on previous years’ trends. For the General category, the expected cut-off is between 220 and 230 marks, while for OBC, it ranges from 190 to 210. SC candidates can anticipate a cut-off between 170 and 185, and ST candidates may see a cut-off between 165 and 175.

To check their results, candidates should:

  • Go to the official website at exams.nta.ac.in.

  • Click on the “CUET PG 2025 Result” link on the homepage.

  • Enter their Application Number and Password or Date of Birth.

  • Submit the details to access their result dashboard.

  • Download and print the CUET PG 2025 Scorecard for their records.

This year’s CUET PG has been a significant event for students seeking admission into postgraduate programs across various universities in India. The NTA aims to streamline the admission process through this single-window examination, making it easier for students to apply to multiple institutions with a single score.

As the results are awaited, students are encouraged to stay updated through the official NTA website for any announcements regarding the final answer key and result dates. The transparency and structure of the CUET PG process are designed to ensure fairness and accessibility in higher education admissions.

With the completion of the examination phase and the release of the provisional answer key, the focus now shifts to the results and the subsequent admission processes that will follow. Students are reminded to prepare adequately for any further steps in their educational journey, and to utilize the resources available through the NTA to ensure a smooth transition into their chosen postgraduate programs.
