Nick Offerman And Megan Mullally Headline Vivid Sydney 2025

The comedy couple will take the stage for their first live conversation in Australia during the festival's closing night.

Vivid Sydney 2025 is set to light up the city with an exciting lineup of events, including a unique appearance by comedy power couple Nick Offerman and Megan Mullally. The duo will host "Unscripted & Unfiltered" at the International Convention Centre Sydney (ICC Sydney) on Saturday, June 14, marking their first live conversation together in Australia.

Offerman, known for his role as Ron Swanson in Parks and Recreation, and Mullally, famous for portraying Karen Walker in Will & Grace, have spent over 25 years collaborating across various platforms, including film, television, and podcasting. This event will provide fans a rare glimpse into their lives and careers.

Moderated by radio and television broadcaster Zan Rowe, the conversation promises to be lively as Offerman and Mullally discuss their creative partnership, their individual careers, and their activism within the LGBTQIA+ community and environmental issues. Offerman humorously remarked, "Megan and I are powerfully chuffed to get back to town for Vivid Sydney but also to reprise our lovemaking session atop the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Once we have recharged those particular batteries, we’ll be thrilled to transfer our slatternly energies to the Vivid Sydney audience. Come for the anecdotes and the burlesque lust in our every turn of phrase, then get stretched out before you get home, because there’s gonna be some canoodlin’.”

Vivid Sydney 2025 will run from May 23 to June 14, featuring a revamped program that spans five connected zones: Circular Quay and The Rocks, Barangaroo, Martin Place and the CBD, Darling Harbour, and The Goods Line and Inner City. The festival will showcase luminous installations, incredible artworks, and millions of glittering lights, with the iconic Vivid Sydney Light Walk being a highlight.

This year, the Light Walk, which traditionally spans 8.5 kilometers, will be entirely free, allowing visitors to explore the stunning displays without any cost. Starting at Circular Quay, the self-guided trail winds through The Rocks, Walsh Bay, Barangaroo, Darling Harbour, and finishes at Central Station. The festival has scrapped paid events in response to the rising cost of living, ensuring all experiences are accessible to everyone.

In addition to Offerman and Mullally, the festival will feature other notable personalities, including lifestyle icon Martha Stewart and culinary star Nigella Lawson. Vivid Sydney Festival Director, Gill Minervini, expressed excitement about the lineup, stating, "We couldn’t let Vivid Sydney take place this year without treating visitors to a masterclass in comedy. Nick and Megan are one of the funniest couples alive, and this conversation is set to be equal parts unpredictable and hilarious."

The Global Storyteller series aims to bring together creative leaders and bright minds to foster new forms of engagement and exchange. Previous speakers have included pop culture icons like Jennifer Coolidge, Mike White, Amy Poehler, and local superstar Troye Sivan.

Tickets for "Unscripted & Unfiltered with Nick Offerman & Megan Mullally" will be available exclusively to Stan members starting Thursday, May 8, 2025, followed by a general release on Friday, May 9, 2025, at 9:00 AM at vividsydney.com. This event is expected to be a standout moment in this year’s festival, giving comedy enthusiasts a compelling reason to attend.

As Vivid Sydney prepares to dazzle audiences with its vibrant displays and engaging events, the addition of Offerman and Mullally to the program is a testament to the festival's commitment to offering world-class entertainment. Their unique blend of humor and insight promises to captivate audiences, making this a must-see event during the festival.

With 75% of the Vivid Sydney program being free, including the legendary Light Walk, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. The festival not only celebrates artistic expression but also aims to engage the community in meaningful conversations about creativity, culture, and social issues.

As the countdown to Vivid Sydney 2025 begins, excitement builds for what promises to be an unforgettable celebration of light, art, and culture. Whether you’re a fan of Offerman and Mullally or simply looking to experience the magic of Vivid, this year’s festival is sure to leave a lasting impression.
