New Security Vehicles Deployed In Guelmim-Oued Noun Region

The region enhances law enforcement capabilities with 29 new service vehicles to improve security interventions.

On Wednesday, March 19, 2025, a significant step was taken to bolster security in the Guelmim-Oued Noun region of Morocco, as 29 new service vehicles were delivered to enhance the operational capabilities of various law enforcement agencies. The event was overseen by Mohamed Najem Abhay, the governor of the region, who was accompanied by local officials and heads of the security forces.

The new vehicles included 8 designated for the royal gendarmerie, 6 allocated to national security, and 6 for support forces. Additionally, the delivery comprised 9 motorbikes intended to aid the national security forces. This diverse fleet is expected to significantly improve the intervention capabilities of these forces, ensuring a more efficient response to security incidents across the region.

This initiative, funded by the Guelmim-Oued Noun region council, carries a substantial investment of 10 million dirhams. It falls under a broader partnership agreement aimed at enhancing safety and security across the region, reflecting a commitment to public safety and law enforcement support. The agreement was ratified by the region council during its session in March 2023, demonstrating proactive governance in addressing local security needs.

During the ceremony, which highlighted the importance of community safety, Abhay commented, "This operation aims to enhance security throughout the region." Such statements underscore the strategic importance of the new vehicles to local law enforcement agencies tasked with the safety of residents.

Those in attendance included key figures in the region’s law enforcement hierarchy, such as the regional commander of the royal gendarmerie and the regional commander of the support forces, reflecting a unified front in addressing security challenges. Their presence at the event was not just ceremonial; it represented a concerted effort among various security bodies to work collaboratively for the greater good of the Guelmim-Oued Noun community.

This delivery of vehicles is viewed as a pivotal development in regional security efforts, aiming to fortify the operational strengths of various agencies and ensuring they are equipped to handle a range of emergencies effectively. With improved resources at their disposal, local law enforcement is expected to respond to situations with increased agility and efficiency.

As communities within Guelmim-Oued Noun look forward to enhanced security, the coordination among governmental organizations, represented through these investments, reflects a commitment to improving not just safety but also public confidence in local law enforcement. The impact of these initiatives will be closely monitored by both the authorities and the public in the months to come, as residents hope for a more secure environment fostered by these strategic upgrades.
