For small vans below 2.5 tonnes, grants of £2,500 are now available, whereas those seeking larger models (up to 4.25 tonnes) can claim £5,000. Conversely, from April 1, 2025, owners of electric cars will be required to pay Vehicle Excise Duty (VED) for the first time. Despite this increase, savvy EV drivers can sidestep the fee for another year if they retax their vehicles before March 31, 2025.
