In a dedicated effort to enhance community well-being, the city administration of Kovrov is urging local housing organizations to actively participate in a month-long sanitary cleaning initiative that commenced on March 15, 2025. This initiative comes during a period where the threat of fires is increasingly prevalent due to dry conditions.
During a meeting held at the city administration, officials stressed the crucial need for all organizations—including housing associations (UК), homeowners' associations (ТСЖ), and resource supply companies—to maintain cleanliness in their respective areas. Special attention has been directed towards the removal of dry grass and debris. Igor Dogonin, the Director of MKO "Department for GO and Emergency Situations," articulated the seriousness of the situation, stating, "The situation is quite serious, he emphasized. Dry grass and dead wood can catch fire from careless actions such as a cigarette butt, match, or burning of garbage." This comment underscores a growing concern as the region has already experienced several fires attributed to human negligence.
Moreover, this week, Kovrov will host a regional-level training exercise for emergency response teams, involving all available resources. Dogonin highlighted, "I urge everyone: pay more attention to cleaning up garbage and dry grass!" His remarks came in the wake of tragic incidents in the area, including a recent fire in Vladimir where a woman's attempt to burn trash led to her home being engulfed in flames, leaving her homeless. Furthermore, fire incidents in the area of Babushkina Street involved the burning of sheds and garages, attributed to unsafe fire management practices.
In response to increasing fire risks, city inspectors, working alongside municipal control and police officers, will conduct thorough inspections of various land parcels, including those designated for agricultural use. Owners found wanting will face accountability measures. Vladimir Shnel, Head of the Department of Municipal Control, emphasized the importance of compliance, stating, "Collected garbage cannot be piled up at container sites or along the road – this is an administrative offense." He called for all leaders to not only oversee cleanup efforts but also to personally participate in community work days, reinforcing the idea that collaboration leads to both better aesthetics and enhanced safety.
The urgency of these efforts coincides with preparations for the upcoming heating season, which municipal entities like УК, ТСЖ, and ЖСК have already begun to tackle. Further reinforcing community involvement, the administration concluded the meeting with an awards ceremony honoring exceptional employees from various management companies, such as "RMD," "ZhEC," "Vika," and "Nashe ZhKO," as well as resource supply organizations like "KEMZ-Energo" and the 63rd workshop of AO "ZiD." These awards, issued by the Ministry of Housing and Communal Services of the Vladimir Region, celebrate dedication and excellence in public service as part of the Day of the Worker of Consumer Services and Housing and Communal Services.
