KFC Suspends 2025 Fukubukuro Pre-Orders Amid System Glitches

The popular holiday offering hits snags as tech issues arise during the reservation launch.

KFC temporarily suspended pre-orders for its coveted 2025 Kenta Fukubukuro on December 23 due to system issues encountered during the online ordering process, leaving fans of the fast-food giant both disappointed and confused.

The Kenta Fukubukuro, which is known for its enticing range of offerings including items valued at 4,190 yen, was set to be available for just 3,000 yen. This year’s lucky bag promised include original chicken, burgers, and other fan-favorite items, alongside special discount coupons for lucky purchasers. The excitement built up prior as social media buzzed with anticipation for the release.

According to Japan KFC, the pre-orders were scheduled to start at 10 AM, but right at the moment they launched, problems with the ordering system emerged. Users took to platforms like X (formerly Twitter) to report their inability to place orders, leading to mounting frustration. Many expressed concerns about missing out on the anticipated offer after seeing encouraging posts from fellow customers who had successfully placed their orders.

"The pre-order system experienced issues immediately after launch at 10 AM on the 23rd," reported Japan KFC, addressing the situation head-on. Due to the unexpected technical issues, all pre-order processes, including possible walk-in reservations at certain stores, were put on hold as the company scrambled to fix the glitch.

While the company worked to resolve the issues, they assured customers who had successfully processed orders before the suspension, stating, "Reservations will be handled as they were received.” This gave some relief to those who feared losing their orders altogether.

The Kenta Fukubukuro, known for sparking joy among fans who appreciate its blend of classic KFC items, was disappointingly halted just as excitement peaked. The products included several vouchers for popular menu items—an attractive proposition for KFC lovers.

Social media showcased mixed reactions, with some enthusiastic about the prospect of the Fukubukuro, such as, “I’m definitely going to order it!” and “This is going to sell out fast!” Others lamented the inconvenience caused by the website issues, sharing thoughts like, “Why does this always happen?” Many became proactive, opting to call nearby KFC locations to see if they could reserve their Fukubukuro directly.

This suspension made KFC the top trending topic by 11:30 AM on December 23, showcasing just how passionate and engaged the customer base is when it concerns their beloved fried chicken and festive meal deals. Despite the hiccup, KFC has indicated plans to communicate when the reservation system might return to normal operation.

Although uncertainties surround the suspension and resolution, KFC has never failed to deliver excitement with their yearly Fukubukuro offerings. Customers are waiting anxiously for updates on when they can renew their attempts for the 2025 collection.

The company urges customers to keep checking their official channels for the latest news and reopening timelines. For now, they remain focused on ensuring the reservation system is functioning optimally to avoid future disappointments.

Lastly, KFC reminds fans and future customers alike of the urgent need to plan for the quickly sold-out 2025 Kenta Fukubukuro offer. Historically popular, this year’s lineup promises to be just as enticing, if not more so, than years prior—with fans now eagerly anticipating not just the contents but also the chance to secure their purchase without technical hitches.
