Two members of the Kansai Johnny's Jr. group AmBitious, Tairiku Yoshikawa and Gaku Kawashita, are set to leave the agency STARTO ENTERTAINMENT at the end of March 2025, after each reflecting on their individual journeys and future aspirations.
Gaku Kawashita, 24, who has been on hiatus since June 2024 due to health issues, expressed gratitude to not only his fans but also his fellow AmBitious members and their producer, Tadayoshi Ohkura, 39. He stated, "I took a lot of time to think, and I made the decision to walk a new path. I feel very sorry for everyone who has supported me, but I will think about my future and walk firmly on my own feet and grow." This heartfelt declaration highlights his intent to pursue personal growth beyond his involvement with the group.
Similarly, Tairiku Yoshikawa, 23, revealed his plans on a paid membership site where he declared, "From now on, I will be going down a different path than before." He emphasized the importance of this decision by clarifying, "This decision was made by my own will. It's not because of any of the 9 members of AmBitious or anyone else. I consulted with AmBitious's trusted seniors and staff, and this is the result of our discussions." His comments show not only his resolve but also the supportive environment within the band as they navigate their careers.
Yoshikawa went on to express his appreciation for the time spent with his colleagues, stating, "The time I spent with everyone is a treasure of my life." His words signify the sentimental value of the experiences they shared and the bonds formed during their tenure.
AmBitious was formed under the direction of Ohkura back in October 2021. Originally comprised of nine talented young entertainers, the group has experienced several changes, including the departures of Yuto Takahashi and Kazuse Kanezashi last year. Meanwhile, another member, Ryoga Toa of the Kansai Johnny's Jr. group 'Lil Kansai', is also set to leave at the end of this month, presenting yet another shift within the organization.
The announcements come at a time when the Kansai Johnny's Jr. scene is undergoing significant transitions, sparking speculation and emotion among fans and followers of the groups involved. The departures of Kawashita and Yoshikawa represent not just personal choices but also reflect the broader movements within the popular music scene they have been part of.
Fans have reacted with mixed emotions, celebrating the achievements of both members yet mourning their exit from the group dynamic. The Kansai Johnny's Jr. has long been recognized for nurturing young talent and providing platforms for them to shine, making the departures of established members particularly poignant.
Looking forward, both Kawashita and Yoshikawa have expressed their intentions to pursue paths unique to their respective aspirations. They leave behind cherished memories within their group and the fans who supported them through their journeys.
With the turmoil surrounding the departures and the music industry at large, it will be interesting to see how AmBitious adapts moving forward and what new directions they may innovate. For now, the legacy of these two members will undoubtedly be marked by their dedication to their craft and the heartfelt connections formed throughout their time together.
Both Kawashita and Yoshikawa have promised to remain engaged with their fans as they transition to these new chapters of their lives, assuring supporters of their commitment to personal integrity and growth. Therefore, their exits can be seen not only as endings but also as fresh beginnings full of potential.
March 2025 will mark the conclusion of one era and the dawn of another for both former AmBitious members as they step away from the spotlight of their childhood dreams and venture forth on their own terms.
