Juan Luis Guerra Announces Summer 2025 Concert Tour In Spain

The Dominican artist will perform in six cities, showcasing his greatest hits and recent works.

The renowned Dominican artist Juan Luis Guerra will return to Spanish stages in the summer of 2025 with a tour that will take him to six cities across the peninsula and the Canary Islands throughout July. The performer of classics such as "Quisiera ser un pez" is set to grace the stage with the following dates: July 17 in Jaén, July 19 in Sanxenxo (Pontevedra), July 22 in Gijón, July 24 in Fuengirola, July 26 in Gran Canaria, and July 27 in Tenerife.

During these performances, attendees will enjoy a repertoire that revisits the best of his musical career, alongside more recent tracks from productions such as the album Entre mar y palmeras (2022) and the EP Privé (2020). This new series of concerts comes after the overwhelming success of his previous tour, also titled Entre mar y palmeras, which saw sold-out shows in numerous venues, including several in Spain.

Born in Santo Domingo on June 7, 1957, Juan Luis Guerra is a composer, producer, and one of the foremost exponents of Caribbean music. His unique style emerges from the fusion of merengue, bachata, salsa, jazz, and traditional rhythms from his homeland. Musically trained at the Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo and the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston, he founded the group Juan Luis Guerra y 4.40 in 1984, achieving international fame with albums like Bachata Rosa (1990), a milestone in Latin music history.

The presale for tickets begins on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at 13:00 (Canarian time). To access the sale, fans must register on the TomaTicket platform, entering an email address to receive a code that enables the purchase. Ticket prices for Juan Luis Guerra's concerts are as follows: Front Stage Premium: 220 euros; Front Stage: 143 euros; General Pista Early Entry: 93 euros; General: 73 euros.

Juan Luis Guerra will offer six concerts in Spain with his band 4.40 in July 2025. The concert dates include July 17 in Jaén and July 27 in Tenerife. Other locations include Sanxenxo (Pontevedra) on July 19, Gijón in Asturias on July 22, and Fuengirola in Málaga on July 24, along with Gran Canaria on July 26.

Guerra, who is currently celebrating over 40 years of his career, has become one of the leading representatives of Caribbean music, thanks to his fusions of merengue, bachata, salsa, jazz, and other Dominican folk rhythms. With more than 20 Grammy awards and numerous accolades, he boasts a solid career that exploded internationally with his album Bachata Rosa (1990), which popularized these rhythms in Spain.

In these concerts of 2025, the audience will be able to enjoy a journey through all his great anthems, such as "La bilirrubina" and "Burbujas de amor," while not forgetting songs from his more recent works: the album Entre mar y palmeras (2022) and the EP Privé (2020).

This new tour comes on the heels of the resounding success of his previous tour Entre mar y palmeras, during which the Dominican artist sold out numerous venues, including several cities in Spain. Guerra's connection to Spain has been consistent throughout his career, having made numerous visits to the country, where he enjoys a solid fan base.

His concerts in Spain are characterized by a festive atmosphere and communion with an audience that knows his songs by heart. The general sale of tickets begins on April 9, 2025, at 17:00, Canary time (18:00 in the peninsula), following a brief presale for registered users on ticket sales platforms.

Prices for the concerts vary depending on the type of ticket purchased, with early entry and premium ticket holders gaining access to the venue half an hour before others. General admission is set at 73 euros, General Pista Early Entry at 93 euros, Front Stage at 143 euros, and Front Stage Premium at 220 euros.

In addition to the concerts in the Canary Islands, Juan Luis Guerra's Spanish tour will also stop in Jaén (July 17), Sanxenxo (July 19), Gijón (July 22), and Fuengirola (July 24). As one of the most celebrated Dominican composers, Guerra's music has evolved over the years, touching on spiritual themes following his conversion to Christianity in 1994.
