The filming for the new season of Asia Express has recently wrapped up, and the teams involved in this intense adventure have returned home after two months filled with challenges. Emotions ran high at the airport, where contestants and production team members were greeted with hugs and tears of joy from their loved ones. Among the most touching moments was the reunion of TV presenter Irina Fodor with her family. She was welcomed with open arms by her husband, Răzvan Fodor, and their daughter, who had missed her dearly during her absence.
Despite being apart for two months, Răzvan and their daughter made a promise before Irina left and flew to South Korea shortly after filming concluded to be by her side. "The reason you haven't seen me here for a few days is that they came to Korea and brought with them the other half of my heart," Irina Fodor shared on Instagram, expressing her joy at the reunion.
Irina's experience on Asia Express was not an easy one, as she not only filmed but also embraced local gastronomy. She recounted her culinary adventures, which included tasting spicy squid, spicy chicken claws, unique sweets, and milk-based juices, all to fully immerse herself in the culture of the places visited. "The squid is quite good, it's chewy, a bit spicy, 6/10! The spicy chicken claw— I grabbed it directly, thinking it was wrapped, but no, it’s got a claw! It looks a bit gross, I won't lie. It doesn’t taste bad, it’s spicy. Maybe you shouldn’t eat that gelatin. It has a fatty taste, barbecue sauce, and something spicy," Irina described her traditional food experience on Instagram.
Weeks flew by as Irina Fodor and the Asia Express teams filmed tirelessly. Recently, Răzvan Fodor spoke about his wife's demanding schedule. "She wakes up at 4 AM. That’s her schedule. She wakes up, makes her tea, does her makeup, whatever she does, then at 5 AM, the car picks her up to take her to set, and at 6 AM, the contestants arrive. Yes, that early!" he revealed during an appearance on the show Un show păcătos on Antena Stars.
Răzvan also mentioned that he often speaks with Irina late at night, saying, "I manage to talk to her at 11 PM, then I go to bed, and when I wake up, it’s pointless to call her at 9 AM because she’s in a race. Often, she can’t talk. Only towards the end can we chat, around 4 or 5 PM when she’s free again."
Irina expressed her excitement for the season, noting that it is a very good one because of the dedicated competitors who are fully engaged in every challenge. "She said it’s a very good season. The casting is excellent and the destinations are quite colorful, especially with the finale in South Korea," Răzvan added, highlighting the show's promising trajectory.
After the filming concluded, Irina Fodor chose to remain in South Korea, enjoying a heartfelt reunion with her husband and daughter, Diana. The trio transformed the end of the adventure into a spectacular vacation in Seoul, turning what could have been a bittersweet farewell into a joyful family holiday.
This season of Asia Express not only showcased the resilience and spirit of its contestants but also offered viewers a glimpse into the personal lives of those behind the scenes. Irina's journey, filled with both professional challenges and personal triumphs, resonates with many who have experienced the trials of being away from family for extended periods.
As the new season airs, fans are eager to see how the contestants navigate the various challenges laid before them, all while Irina Fodor balances her role as a host with her newfound culinary experiences and the joys of family reunion. With every episode, the show promises to deliver not just entertainment, but also a celebration of culture, resilience, and the bonds that hold families together.
