Husky And Kriya Launch India’s First ICHOR Medical System

New system promises efficiency and high-volume production for blood collection tubes

Husky Technologies and Kriya Medical Technologies Pvt. Ltd. have proudly unveiled India’s first ICHORTM integrated medical system, marking a promising advancement in the medical manufacturing sector. The debut of this system took place on September 18, 2024, with notable attendees including Anu Moturi, Kriya’s Founder and CEO, and members of Husky's executive medical team. Key government officials, such as the Minister for Industries, Investment Promotion & Commerce from the Government of Tamil Nadu, were also present at this significant event.

The ICHORTM system is set to revolutionize the summer production capabilities of Kriya’s facility located in Chennai, where it will manufacture both 13×100 mm and 13×75 mm blood collection tubes. This high-volume production system is expected to yield up to 250 million tubes annually and features impressive operational speeds, with cycles of under 5.5 seconds—making it the fastest system available worldwide.

Husky’s introduction of the ICHORTM system plays a pivotal role in Kriya’s strategic transition from being merely a regional player to becoming a competitive force on the global stage. Through this collaboration, Kriya is poised to deliver premium-quality blood collection tubes not only locally but also internationally, significantly enhancing the healthcare supply chain.

At the heart of this partnership lies the commitment to ensuring cost-effective and consistent production of high-quality medical supplies. The collaboration began with intensive discussions to cover all aspects of system integration—this included selecting appropriate materials, defining injection solutions, and optimizing performance to meet the healthcare standards.

Adding to Kriya's competitive edge is Husky’s Advantage+EliteTM service agreement, which guarantees expert support 24/7 and real-time monitoring of production reliability and quality. This ensures Kriya can focus on maintaining high standards during each production phase, which is particularly important when producing medical devices.

Husky's ICHORTM system is equipped with advanced technologies including integrated robotics, unified control systems, and state-of-the-art hot runner systems. These innovative components are engineered to produce high-precision parts at rapid speeds, extending mold life, and minimizing waste throughout the operation. This combination of features allows Kriya to boost its overall efficiency and effectiveness as it meets the demands of both domestic and international markets.

Kriya Medical Technologies has built its reputation on adopting cutting-edge technological advancements to deliver high-quality healthcare solutions, especially for the Indian market and other developing economies. With this latest partnership, Kriya is determined to provide advanced medical devices and drive health awareness initiatives particularly aimed at underserved communities.

The significance of this collaboration between Husky and Kriya extends beyond just the production of blood collection tubes; it signifies transformation within India’s medical device manufacturing sector. The event reinforces the value of innovative technologies as primary drivers of growth and improving efficiencies across the healthcare industry.
