Hanoi Showcases Heritage And Creativity At VITM 2025

The city promotes its tourism potential with festivals and heritage sites in focus.

The city of Hanoi is making waves in the tourism sector by showcasing its potential at the VITM Hanoi 2025 fair, themed "Hanoi - Destination of Heritage and Creativity." The event, which runs from April 11 to April 13, 2025, is designed to highlight the rich cultural heritage and innovative spirit of the Vietnamese capital.

Hanoi's booths at the fair are crafted as open spaces, prominently featuring the iconic Khue Van Cac symbol and large LED screens displaying vibrant images and information about the city's tourism offerings. This immersive setup aims to attract visitors and convey the diverse activities and experiences available in Hanoi.

As part of the fair, the Hanoi Department of Tourism is promoting notable heritage sites such as the Thang Long Imperial Citadel, the Co Loa relic site, and the Van Mieu Quoc Tu Giam, which are significant cultural landmarks in the city. These sites not only hold historical importance but also serve as unique tourist attractions that embody the essence of Hanoi's rich past.

In a bid to further enhance its tourism appeal, Hanoi is also showcasing creative spaces from two traditional craft villages: Bat Trang pottery village in Gia Lam and Van Phuc silk weaving village in Ha Dong. These villages were recently recognized as members of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network on February 14, 2025, underscoring their significance in the realm of craftsmanship and cultural heritage.

The Hanoi Department of Tourism is not just stopping at showcasing heritage; they are also introducing a series of exciting tourism programs and events planned for 2025. These include the "Hanoi Tourism Welcomes 2025 - Get on Hanoi 2025" campaign, the Hanoi Tourism Gift Festival, the Ao Dai Festival, the Hanoi Autumn Festival, and the Hanoi Craft Village and Cuisine Festival. Each of these events is designed to celebrate Hanoi's unique cultural identity and attract both domestic and international tourists.

The Hanoi Tourism Gift Festival 2025 will take place at the Tran Nhan Tong pedestrian street and its surrounding areas in Hai Ba Trung district. This three-day festival will feature 80 booths from various tourist areas and famous craft villages, offering visitors a chance to experience the best of what Hanoi has to offer. The festival will include a variety of activities, including cultural performances, interactive exhibits, and opportunities to sample local cuisine.

Moreover, the fair serves as a platform for the Hanoi Department of Tourism to distribute promotional materials and engage with visitors, travel agencies, and media representatives. This outreach is crucial for building partnerships and fostering collaboration within the tourism industry.

Hanoi's commitment to embracing sustainable tourism is evident in the theme of the VITM Hanoi 2025 fair, which is "Developing Green Destinations, Elevating Vietnamese Tourism." This initiative not only aims to promote the city as a tourist destination but also focuses on exchanging innovative solutions, technologies, and models for sustainable tourism development.

A representative from the Hanoi Department of Tourism emphasized the importance of these ongoing activities, stating that they not only provide an opportunity to promote the destination but also create a space for dialogue on new solutions and technologies in green tourism development. This approach highlights Hanoi's readiness to collaborate with businesses, investors, and localities both domestically and internationally to foster a professional, safe, and sustainable tourism ecosystem.

As Hanoi continues to evolve as a vibrant tourist destination, the VITM Hanoi 2025 fair marks a significant step in showcasing its heritage, creativity, and commitment to sustainable tourism. With a packed schedule of events and a focus on collaboration, Hanoi is set to attract more visitors and strengthen its position in the global tourism landscape.
