Gordon Ramsay Expands Culinary Empire With New Restaurants

Two new dining concepts set to open in Cebu's Mactan Newtown by mid-2025.

Travellers International Hotel Group Inc. (TIHGI) is set to expand its culinary offerings in the Philippines with the introduction of two new Gordon Ramsay restaurant concepts at the Mactan Newtown township in Cebu. This exciting development follows the successful launch of the Gordon Ramsay Bar & Grill Philippines at Newport World Resorts in late 2024. The new restaurants, Gordon Ramsay Fish & Chips and Street Burger by Gordon Ramsay, are expected to open side by side by the middle of 2025, marking the first-ever Philippine locations for these concepts.

The Mactan Newtown is a sprawling 30-hectare beachfront township developed by TIHGI’s sister company, Megaworld. It currently features two hotels that boast a combined total of 1,100 room keys, alongside multiple residential and office towers, a school, and various other facilities. The township is also gearing up for a significant US$400 million casino and hotel development, which is slated to begin in 2026.

Gordon Ramsay Fish & Chips promises to deliver a fast-casual dining experience with a menu that highlights variations of the classic British dish. Guests can look forward to options like Lobster & Shrimp, Dirty Chips, and handcrafted milkshakes, all served in a vibrant, over-the-counter style restaurant. Meanwhile, Street Burger by Gordon Ramsay aims to reinvent the traditional American diner experience. Its menu will include bold offerings such as the famous Idiot Burger, the G.F.C. (Gordon’s Fried Chicken) Burger, and the O.G.R. Burger.

TIHGI Executive Chairman Kevin L. Tan expressed enthusiasm for the new dining ventures, stating, "Cebu is a dynamic center of tourism in the Philippines and our township in Mactan Island is the perfect tourism hub in a prime location near the airport. The Mactan Newtown is also a vibrant commercial and leisure hub. With the entry of Gordon Ramsay Fish & Chips and Street Burger by Gordon Ramsay, we will introduce dynamic dining concepts that will further enhance the township’s appeal, not just for visitors, but also for the growing community who live and work there." This sentiment was echoed by many local food enthusiasts, who are eager to experience Ramsay's renowned culinary flair.

The expansion into Mactan Newtown not only reflects Ramsay's growing influence in the Philippine culinary scene but also highlights the region's burgeoning status as a tourist destination. With the township's rapid development, including new hotels and residences, the addition of these restaurants is expected to attract both locals and tourists alike.

Foodies in Cebu are particularly excited about the upcoming openings. The promise of no-fuss, big-flavor bites like crispy fish & chips and loaded Dirty Chips, along with the cheeky presentation that Ramsay is known for, has already created a buzz among residents. The restaurants are anticipated to become popular hangouts, offering a casual yet vibrant dining experience.

As the Mactan Newtown continues to evolve, it is clear that TIHGI is committed to enhancing the area's appeal through innovative dining options. The introduction of Gordon Ramsay Fish & Chips and Street Burger by Gordon Ramsay is just the beginning, as the township aims to establish itself as a premier destination for food and leisure in the Philippines.

With a strategic location near the airport and a growing community, Mactan Newtown is poised to become a culinary hotspot. The upcoming restaurants are expected to play a significant role in this transformation, providing visitors and locals with unique dining experiences that are synonymous with Gordon Ramsay's brand.

In conclusion, the arrival of these two new restaurant concepts is a testament to the vibrant culinary landscape of Cebu and the increasing recognition of the region as a key player in the tourism industry. As these establishments prepare to open their doors, anticipation builds for what promises to be an exciting addition to the local dining scene.
