Fujita Nicole Reflects On Her ViVi Legacy As She Graduates

The model prepares for new beginnings after over seven years with ViVi, launching her beauty book.

Fujita Nicole, the renowned model and influencer, is on the verge of a significant milestone as she prepares to graduate from her exclusive modeling contract with ViVi, marking the end of her 7 years and 5 months with the prestigious magazine. Having made her debut back in December 2017, Nicole has been a prominent figure in the modeling community, culminating her time with ViVi with the release of her first beauty book, Watashi ga Haki Daseta 82 no Houhou, on March 12, 2025.

At the recent 40th MyNavi Tokyo Girls Collection 2025 SPRING/SUMMER fashion event held on March 1, 2025, Fujita reflected on her decade-long participation, noting, "That’s amazing to think about being involved for so long, but I was able to present the 27-year-old version of myself which feels like growth." The event felt particularly momentous for her, as it coincided with her self-imposed timeline to conclude her role with ViVi.

Looking forward to the spring season, Nicole expressed her fashion intentions: "I am really focusing on yellow items, especially shades reminiscent of egg yolks and creams, which I am excited to wear this season."] She mentioned having personal designs through her own brand, CALNAMUR, aligning with the trend. Her ensemble at the event featured garments from MOUSSY, showcasing her personal style and confidence.

The model expressed her satisfaction with her recent acquisition of sheer, egg-yellow tops, demonstrating her commitment to incorporating the colors and styles she loves. "Winter was full of red for me; it was all about incorporating bold colors and textures like turtlenecks and bags, especially leading up to Christmas!" she added.

Fujita's latest beauty book, which was over 20 hours of interviews compiled to offer 82 distinctive methods to achieve style and confidence, reflects her transformation from her earlier modeling days. "The reason I chose to focus on the concept of 'getting polished' is because it's something I have experienced over the last ten years since appearing on Popteen. I realized how much I have changed visually and internally, and it felt right to share this at such a pivotal moment," she explained.

Emphasizing inclusion, her book aims to assist those who might feel stuck or unsure about their personal style as they transition to new phases of life. "I want readers who feel like their makeup doesn’t resonate or who need encouragement to read this. It’s all about feeling good and embracing change," she shared.

The decision to leave ViVi was not taken lightly; it had been contemplated for over a year, aligning with her broader life plans. “Seeing senior models graduate at the same age made this decision more impactful to me. I feel I’ve done all I wanted to, and every goal I set out to achieve has been fulfilled. I’ve experienced no regrets,” Nicole said, reflecting on her farewell moments during her final cover shoot, where her emotions were palpable. "I realized how much I love ViVi when I found myself feeling sad during the wrap-up shooting session," she recalled.

Her last feature for ViVi, the May 2025 issue, set to be released on March 22, will encapsulate her time there. The editorial department is preparing to showcase this celebrated history with features like the "Nico Archive," which documents significant moments from her modeling career.

Moving forward, Fujita Nicole is set on continuing her modeling career and looks forward to engaging work on television and beyond. “I love being a model, and it’s the foundation of my public life. I want to maintain my career aligning with my growth and stay visible as long as I can," she stated. Her efforts have not only cemented her status as one of ViVi's leading models but have positioned her for exciting opportunities as she steps forward.

With each passing milestone, Fujita Nicole strives to share her experiences and wisdom, proving to be not just a model but also an inspirational figure who encourages others to embrace their own journeys.
