Free Tax Assistance Available At Local Libraries

Residents can access invaluable guidance for filing their tax returns this March.

Nijmegen, Netherlands – With the income tax declaration deadline fast approaching, residents are being offered numerous resources to assist with filing their taxes online before the May 1 deadline. Highlighted among these is the free walk-in consultation event taking place at Bibliotheek Zwanenveld on National Tax Declaration Day, March 8, where volunteers will be available to address questions about tax submissions.

This initiative particularly supports individuals who may struggle with the online filing process. "Do you find it difficult to submit your tax return online?" local library representatives have been quoted as saying, encouraging community members to utilize this valuable resource.

Volunteers at Bibliotheek Zwanenveld will be present on March 8, from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm. Importantly, attendance does not require library membership, and individuals interested must register at the library's front desk beforehand. More information can be found on their website at www.obgz.nl/belastingaangifte.

Similarly, the Helpdesk Landsmeer offers personalized support services for all taxation-related queries. Operating by appointment, this service not only assists with tax filings but also addresses various civil matters including benefits claims, filling out forms, and management of official correspondence. The Helpdesk invites all residents to reach out via phone or email to schedule their assistance: call +31 6-20795835 or email [email protected].

Starting March 1, options for tax assistance expand with additional workshops at libraries across Tilburg. Here, community members can receive guidance from experts DJoline van der Heijden and Nihal Vogels, even without prior library membership. Events are scheduled as follows:

  • The Library Heyhoef: March 3, 12:30 – 2:30 pm
  • The Library Berkel-Enschot: March 6, 12:30 – 2:30 pm

Individuals seeking assistance during these workshops are encouraged to sign up through the library’s website or by speaking to library staff at their local branch to guarantee their spot.

Library services also extend to offering help on various digital government matters, including healthcare allowances, unemployment applications, and health declarations. Residents can visit the Information Point for Digital Government present at all Tilburg libraries during hours for assistance with these queries. This service aims to provide guidance and referrals as necessary, ensuring every resident can navigate their bureaucratic needs successfully.

Overall, these initiatives reflect the libraries' commitment to serving their communities by providing accessible resources and support, especially as tax filing deadlines approach. Residents are encouraged to participate actively and make the most of these free services.
