Families Begin Receiving Beca Rita Cetina Financial Support

Nationwide card distribution aims to assist families with educational costs and expand program coverage.

Starting Wednesday, February 5, 2025, families enrolled in the Beca Rita Cetina program began receiving their Banco del Bienestar cards, marking the official rollout of this important financial aid initiative aimed at supporting students across various educational levels. Originally focused on secondary education students, the program has expanded to include those in primary and preschool as well.

This financial assistance, targeting approximately 5.7 million students, offers aid of 1,900 pesos every two months per student. For families with multiple children enrolled at the secondary level, there’s also the additional benefit of 700 pesos for each additional child, making it a significant support system aimed at alleviating educational costs.

The Banco del Bienestar cards act as the main disbursement avenue for funds. Beneficiaries can easily check if their schools are registered under the Beca Rita Cetina program through the online search tool provided by the Coordinación Nacional de Becas para el Bienestar Benito Juárez. Users need only enter their CURP (Unique Population Registry Code) to access details about their assigned school, payment status, and the date their card is due for delivery.

Those unfamiliar with the registration process may be concerned if their school does not appear on the registration list. Under those circumstances, it’s recommended to reach out directly to the Coordinación Nacional de Becas para el Bienestar Benito Juárez at 55 1162 0300, where assistance is available Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM and Saturdays from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM (Mexico City time) to address any inquiries.

This financial program continues to evolve, particularly this year, as it reinforces its commitment to support families with children at the foundational stages of education. According to current reports, the initiative aims to provide 1,900 pesos bimonthly for each registered secondary school student and maintain the additional support for extra secondary children enrolled.

The rollout of the Banco del Bienestar cards is actively being conducted throughout schools across the country, ensuring families have access to their funds. Mario Delgado, the Secretary of Public Education, confirmed at the March 3 morning press conference the payment schedule for families. "Lo mismo de las tarjetas Rita Cetina, las que se hayan entregado en febrero se pagarán en marzo y las que se entreguen en marzo se pagarán en abril," he explained, outlining the systematic approach being taken to manage financial assistance effectively.

The communication emphasizes clarity and accountability, driving home the government’s objective to facilitate educational access through substantial financial backing. Families receiving their Banco del Bienestar cards during March can anticipate their first payments from the Beca Rita Cetina program by April 2025. Full distribution of the cards will continue until March 31, allowing ample time for all eligible families to enroll and benefit from the aid offered.

Given the considerable financial support and the structured payment process, the Beca Rita Cetina program is poised to serve as a lifeline for many families prioritizing their children's education. This effort by the government of Mexico also symbolizes its broader strategy aimed at fostering educational development and enhancing the quality of education overall.
