Exciting Easter Activities Await Families Across The UK

From funfairs to wildlife parks, families can enjoy a variety of Easter events this holiday season.

The Indoor Funfair is back in Liverpool next week, with more than 30 rides to enjoy over the Easter holidays. Thousands of families are expected to join in the fun which arrives at Exhibition Centre Liverpool for a two-week stay on 8th April.

Thrill rides Superstar and Trabant return with family favourites the Dodgems and Waltzer as well as Balloon Ride and Runaway Train for the little ones. John Lowery from Indoor Funfair said: “Indoor Funfair is the only event of its kind in the UK with three hours of unlimited fun. It’s so popular in Liverpool that many of the sessions sell out so it’s better to pre-book as we can’t guarantee tickets will be available on the day. We think there’s something for everyone with free entry for babes in arms and tickets also available for those who would rather just watch family members having fun. We can’t guarantee the Easter bunny and lots of chocolate but one thing’s for certain, there’ll be lots of smiling faces.”

Colm Graham, Head of Partnerships, Hospitality and Exhibition Sales, at ACC Liverpool said: “Indoor Funfair is one of our most popular events bringing thousands of people to the Liverpool waterfront from across the region. It’s a great family attraction enjoyed in a safe and accessible environment which even the weather can’t ruin!”

Indoor Funfair runs until 21st April with 40 sessions across the two-week stay starting at 10am. There are afternoon sessions starting at 2pm and evening sessions at 6pm (except on the 13th and 21st) with people advised to arrive 30 minutes before. Pre-booked tickets are available from £13.99 for the 6pm session with the 10am session priced at £14.99 and 2pm session at £15.99. Refreshments and any prize games are not included in the ticket price. Between 10am-1pm on Saturday 12th April and between 6pm and 9pm on Sunday 20th April, there’ll be quieter sessions for those with sensory needs where music will be lowered. Ride lights will be switched off and rides slowed where possible. To book tickets, visit the website or for more information follow on Facebook or Instagram @indoorfunfair.

Meanwhile, the University of Exeter is hosting free Easter events with a film-themed Easter trail where children can spot film icons decorated on eggs. On 9 April, children can play with the museum’s optical toys and make their own cartoons. On 16th April, children can see original medieval illuminated texts and create their own illuminated bookmarks. The events are suitable for children aged 5 to 14, and booking is essential.

As the Easter holidays approach, a line-up of free activities to entertain the whole family in Ross-on-Wye has been revealed. Throughout the two-week break in April, there will be something for everyone to enjoy with most activities being drop-ins with no advance booking necessary. On April 14, there will be cinema showings at the Phoenix Theatre, featuring Tangled at 2pm and Big Hero 6 at 4pm. On April 15, hedgehog-themed activities will take place at Ross Community Gardens from 1pm to 4pm. On April 16, yoga sessions will be offered at the bandstand, starting at 2pm and 3:20pm. On April 17, an Easter egg hunt will be held at Long Acre, starting at 12pm for children under 15.

On April 22, a quiz evening will take place at the library, and on April 23, arts and crafts will be available at the market house from 10am to midday. The following day, a board game evening will be hosted at the Corn Exchange from 3pm to 7pm. Finally, on April 25, a writing workshop for children aged 10 to 12 will occur at the library, along with puppet shows at the market house at 1:30pm and 3pm.

Woburn Safari Park is also unveiling a range of exciting new attractions this Easter, making it the perfect time for visitors to experience unforgettable wildlife encounters. One of the most exciting developments is Giraffe Meadow, a new space designed for the park’s Rothschild’s giraffe herd. This area gives the gentle giants more space to graze while allowing visitors to observe them up close. On weekends and school holidays, keepers will host talks and demonstrations about these endangered animals.

For younger adventurers, the Little Ranger Rovers provide a new interactive experience in the Foot Safari. Children aged 3 to 9 can get behind the wheel of their own mini Land Rover Defender and navigate a specially designed track. Another must-see attraction is the upgraded Reptile Ranch, which offers an immersive experience for visitors and better reflects the natural habitats of the reptiles.

The park is also celebrating the return of bush dogs with a new breeding pair named Chilli and Bandit. They recently arrived from France and are settling into their new home in the Foot Safari’s Cachorro Range. As a near-threatened species, their presence at Woburn Safari Park is an important step in ongoing conservation efforts.

Abigail Crowley, Leisure Marketing Manager for Woburn Safari Park, said: "This Easter is an exciting time for the park, with so many fantastic new experiences for visitors to discover. We are all thrilled to welcome back bush dogs to the Foot Safari, and we can’t wait to see how visitors will react to new Giraffe Meadow. The addition of Little Ranger Rovers also means that our youngest guests can enjoy their very own driving adventure." With so much to explore, Woburn Safari Park offers the perfect Easter adventure for animal lovers of all ages.

In addition to these attractions, Yorkshire Sculpture Park is set to offer a unique blend of art, nature, and family-friendly activities, with exhibitions by Laura Ellen Bacon and Felicity Aylieff opening on April 5, 2025. The Easter Dragon Egg Hunt at Pontefract Castle returns from April 12 to April 21, featuring various dragon activities, including craft activities and storytelling. Star Walk, a cosplay event, will also take place at Trinity Walk in Wakey on April 26 and 27, promising fun for all ages.
