Nintendo has officially unveiled the Switch 2, the highly anticipated successor to its best-selling console, during a live online presentation on April 2, 2025. The new device is set to hit the shelves on June 5, 2025, and promises to enhance the gaming experience with improved graphics, audio, and a slew of new titles, including the much-anticipated Mario Kart World.
The Switch 2 showcases a familiar design that fans will recognize, featuring a larger 7.9-inch screen with a 1080p resolution, compared to the original Switch's 720p. Another exclusive title, The Duskbloods, a steampunk vampire adventure from FromSoftware, is slated for release in 2026.
