Excitement Builds For 2026 Anime Mayonaka Heart Tune

The anime adaptation of the popular manga reveals voice cast and staff, igniting fan anticipation.

The world of anime is buzzing with excitement over the upcoming TV anime, Mayonaka Heart Tune, set to air in 2026. The production has recently unveiled the voice actors for its main heroines: Momoko Seto, Yumi Okubo, Natsumi Suzaki, and Misaki Ito. Fans are eager to see the beloved characters brought to life, especially with the release of the first promotional video (PV) showcasing the full voice version of the heroines interacting in a lively scene.

Mayonaka Heart Tune is a captivating love comedy manga created by Masakuni Igarashi, currently serialized in Kodansha's Weekly Shonen Magazine. The narrative follows a group of high school girls in a broadcasting club, all striving toward their dreams in the fields of singing, voice acting, VTubing, and announcing. They embark on a quest to find a mysterious radio program host known only as 'Apollo,' relying solely on the power of their voices. The manga began its serialization in September 2023 and quickly gained popularity, generating over 380,000 impressions on social media after the release of its first chapter.

Each of the main characters is distinct and relatable, enhancing the story's charm. First up is Iinohana Mutsumi, voiced by Momoko Seto. Mutsumi is a second-year student and the head of the broadcasting club who aspires to become a singer. She is not only a talented performer but also a charismatic personality at school, showcasing her friendly yet sometimes mischievous side. Seto expressed her deep admiration for the character, saying, "From the moment I read the original work, I was captivated by Mutsumi's earnest gaze toward her dreams and her slightly mischievous nature. I am determined to portray the delicate emotional changes conveyed through the heroines' gestures and dialogues. I will give it my all!"

Next is Hibukawa Mitsutsu, played by Yumi Okubo. A fellow second-year student, Mitsutsu is an aspiring voice actress who also participates in cosplay. Known for her vibrant personality, she often finds herself in amusing situations due to her difficulty with kanji, resulting in humorous misreads of dialogue during broadcasting activities. Okubo embodies that enthusiasm for the character, sharing her excitement about playing a 'tsundere' girl. "I resonate so strongly with the feeling of wanting to be a voice actress because it’s a journey I personally experienced. I hope to express that feeling through my performance!"

Suzaki Natsumi takes on the role of Kirinoiko, a shy yet passionate high school student who creates her own avatar as a VTuber. Despite being introverted, she possesses a clear sense of self and is supported by a niche fan base. As noted by Suzaki, her own passion for the project adds depth to her portrayal: "The original story captivated me, and I eagerly followed its progression. It's truly an honor to be part of this journey, and I can’t wait to bring Kirinoiko's dream to life on screen!"

Lastly, Misaki Ito will voice Amatsuki Shinobu, a diligent student aspiring to be an announcer. As the vice-president of the student council and an exemplary member of the broadcasting club, she is well-respected among her peers. Ito explains her attraction to the character: "This project allows me to delve into various experiences, and I'm really excited about showcasing Shinobu’s expressive charm. I can’t wait to see how her journey unfolds in the anime!"

Additionally, the production team has been revealed, with Masahiko Takahashi serving as director, known for his work on Buta no Leber wa Kanetsu Shiro and co-director of Hige o Soru. Soshite Joshi Kousei o Hirou. Yukie Sugawara is handling the series composition and script, having worked on Overlord and Unwanted Immortality Adventurer. Character design is by Tomoyuki Shitaya, recognized for their work in productions like 2.5 D no Yuuwaku and Hikikomori Vampire no Monmon, all contributing to the anime’s distinct aesthetic and storytelling.

With these talented voice actors and an experienced team, Mayonaka Heart Tune promises to be a delightful watch when it hits screens in 2026. Fans are eagerly encouraged to keep an eye on the official website for further updates, including additional comments from the staff and cast as they prepare for the show.

As the excitement builds, one can’t help but wonder how these characters and their aspirations will be portrayed in this vibrant animation. Will it live up to the expectations set by the beloved manga? Keep watching for updates as Mayonaka Heart Tune progresses!
