Evgeny Mironov Denies Hospitalization Claims Amid Health Scare

The beloved Russian actor calls false reports about his health ridiculous, insisting he's doing well.

Evgeny Mironov, the celebrated Russian actor and artistic director of the State Theater of Nations, has been at the center of health-related media frenzy following reports of his hospitalization due to heart problems. The initial reports claimed the 58-year-old actor experienced severe health deterioration, including sharp spikes in blood pressure and numbness in his hands, leading to urgent medical attention.

According to the Telegram channel SHOT, Mironov sought medical help after feeling suddenly unwell. Doctors diagnosed him with heart issues allegedly brought on by these fluctuated pressures, prompting immediate hospitalization.

For over a week, Mironov remained hospitalized, during which he received treatment. After being discharged, he was prescribed antidepressants and advised to minimize stress and undergo additional medical examinations.

Interestingly, Mironov himself admitted to taking sedatives and sleeping pills for the past year, attributing his health troubles to heightened emotional and physical strain. He expressed concern about the negative toll constant worrying about his professional activities has taken on his sleep and mental well-being.

Despite the alarming reports, the narrative took a twist when Alexey, Mironov's agent, and the actor himself countered the hospitalization claims. During an interview with TASS on March 5, 2025, Mironov expressed disbelief at the assertions about his health, calling them ridiculous and confirming he had been active just the day before performing at the Theater of Nations.

“You know, I find it very funny. Because I played in a performance at the Theater of Nations yesterday. I am very surprised by the reports of my health problems,” Mironov stated, adding, “I recently underwent a daily check-up, and all my medical indicators are normal.” He even humorously claimed to have a biological age of 40 based on genetic indicators.

Mironov's sister, Oksana, also dismissed the hospitalization reports, stating they are entirely false. She emphasized, “Everything is fine with him,” clarifying how perplexed the family felt about the spreading rumors.

Following the initial reports of his hospitalization, various news outlets have gone back and fourth, declaring his supposed health issues only to retract them upon receiving conflicting statements from family and representatives. The situation has shown how quickly misinformation can spiral, especially when it concerns well-known public figures.

The actor had previous health concerns two years earlier when he underwent surgery for reported back problems, including pain radiated to his arm due to intervertebral stenosis and disc herniation, conditions he dealt with during filming. This history may explain why current health claims attracted heightened attention.

Mironov's performances and contributions to cinema remain central to discussions about his career. The actor, who has appeared in acclaimed films such as “Matilda,” “Heart of Parma,” and “The First Time,” is not only known for his cinematic roles but also for his artistic leadership. This turmoil surrounding his health seems to intersect with his professional life, leading to speculation about the stress inherent to his career.

Both family members and his agent have starkly criticized the unfounded rumors about Mironov’s health as attempts to draw attention, emphasizing the need for the media and audiences alike to approach such stories with skepticism.

“I encourage journalists and the public to be cautious about such news and not fall for ‘yellow’ tricks,” Mironov advised, reflecting his awareness of the media's propensity to sensationalize. This statement can resonate with anyone familiar with the impact of invasive reporting on personal well-being.

Understanding the pressures faced by celebrities, particularly those like Mironov, who have openly discussed the emotional burdens of their careers, leads to broader reflections on mental health and support for public figures dealing with public scrutiny.

At 58, Mironov's continuing professional activity amid health concerns portrays the resilience often required of artists. While the swirl of reports about his health may fade, the attention brings awareness to what many entertainers face behind the scenes.

For now, Mironov prepares for new roles and rehearsals, demonstrating his enduring passion for stagecraft. Only time will tell how he continues to navigate both his career's demands and his private health challenges.
