Residents can enjoy fireworks and celebrate mercy during Eid Al Fitr in Dubai.

The long-awaited Eid Al Fitr celebrations are just around the corner in the UAE, offering residents a chance to revel in festivities, including spectacular fireworks displays across Dubai. UAE residents will enjoy a holiday break of up to five days to mark this significant Islamic festival, which is set to be the first long holiday of 2025. Depending on the sighting of the Moon, the holiday could span four or five days, including the weekend. For those opting to stay in the country, there are plenty of exciting activities planned, particularly in Dubai, where fireworks will light up the sky almost every night.

For families looking to enjoy the holiday, here are some of the best spots to catch the dazzling fireworks during the long weekend:

Bluewaters - If you’re planning a lovely dinner at a waterfront restaurant, don’t forget to look up! The fireworks display on the second day of Eid will commence at 9 PM, providing a perfect backdrop to your evening.

Global Village - This popular festival park is transforming into a vibrant spectacle adorned with festive decorations for Eid. Visitors can look forward to daily fireworks displays from Friday, March 28, to Saturday, April 5, 2025. The shows will light up the night sky at 10 PM during Ramadan nights and return to the regular 9 PM timing from the first day of Eid.

Dubai Parks and Resorts - Families can enjoy thrilling rides and live performances at this theme park. On the first two days of Eid, visitors can catch a laser show at either 7:30 PM, 8:30 PM, or 9:30 PM, followed by a spectacular fireworks display at 9:30 PM.

Hatta - For those seeking a quick escape from the city, the majestic mountains of Hatta will also host a fireworks display at 8 PM on the first day of Eid Al Fitr.

The Beach, JBR - With summer approaching, now is the perfect time to enjoy the pleasant weather at the beach. If you’re heading to see the fireworks at JBR, arrive early to secure a good spot, as the show will begin at 9 PM on the second day of Eid.

e& Beach Canteen - If you’re planning to grab a bite at night, the e& Beach Canteen is a great choice for delightful dishes, and you can also enjoy the fireworks at 8 PM on the first day of Eid.

In addition to the festive celebrations, the UAE has also witnessed significant acts of mercy ahead of Eid Al Fitr. UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan ordered the release of 1,295 prisoners, while Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum pardoned 1,518 inmates, reflecting a spirit of compassion and reconciliation in line with the values of the Holy Month.

Among those released were over 500 Indian nationals, a gesture that highlights the UAE’s commitment to its ties with India. This release comes in the wake of the recent execution of Indian national Shahzadi Khan, which has cast a shadow over the community. Additionally, two more Indians on death row, Muhammed Rinash Arangilottu and Muraleedharan Perumthatta Valappil, both from Kerala, were executed for murder, raising concerns and discussions regarding the justice system.

The clemency granted by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid applies to individuals from various nationalities held in Dubai's correctional facilities. The initiative aims to reunite these individuals with their families and facilitate their reintegration into society. Chancellor Essam Issa Al-Humaidan, the Attorney General of Dubai, stated that this decision reflects Sheikh Mohammed's dedication to providing a fresh start to those who have served their sentences.

Furthermore, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed has pledged to settle the financial obligations of the released prisoners, alleviating the burdens on both the inmates and their families. This move is designed to foster stability within households and ensure they can begin anew without financial constraints.

The annual Ramadan pardons are part of the UAE's tradition of showing mercy and providing second chances. This initiative aligns with the values of the Holy Month, promoting forgiveness, compassion, and rehabilitation. The mass release also serves a practical role in reducing prison populations while reinforcing social stability.

As the Eid Al Fitr celebrations approach, the UAE stands as a beacon of joy and mercy, offering its residents not only a chance to celebrate with family and friends but also to reflect on the values of compassion and forgiveness that define this sacred time.
