Daktronics Elevates Cricket Experience With New LED Displays

The Pakistan Cricket Board enhances fan engagement through cutting-edge technology at cricket stadiums.

Brookings, S.D. – Daktronics, alongside Quadra Technologies, has successfully completed a significant renovation project for the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) by installing six state-of-the-art LED video displays at three iconic cricket stadiums. This overhaul was aimed at enhancing the spectator experience during the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy, which recently concluded.

The targeted stadiums located in Lahore, Karachi, and Rawalpindi now feature advanced LED technology, with over 850 square meters of new displays installed. This upgrade promises to bring enhanced visibility and excitement to cricket matches, making it easier for fans to engage with the game.

“Quadra Technology is proud to be Daktronics’ representative for the Pakistan region, working closely with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to boost the spectator experience for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025,” stated Khurram Khaliq, CEO of Quadra Technologies. With this prestigious tournament garnering the attention of over a billion viewers worldwide, the PCB reviewed numerous options and deemed Daktronics to be the best global supplier of scoreboards.

Thanks to the collaborative efforts of Quadra Technologies and Daktronics teams, the installation was completed within less than 90 days. Khaliq emphasized, “State-of-the-art screens have been installed at the Lahore, Karachi, and Rawalpindi cricket stadiums, delivering unparalleled graphics, video content, and animations to transform the game-day experience.”

Each of the newly installed displays boasts impressive specifications, including 10-millimeter pixel spacing for excellent image clarity and brightness levels reaching up to 10,000 nits. This ensures brilliant visuals for both spectators on-site and those watching from home.

One of the standout features of these LED displays is their capability of variable content zoning. This technology allows stadium management to display one large image or divide the screen among multiple content zones, enabling them to broadcast live video, instant replays, up-to-the-minute statistics, game information, graphics, animations, and sponsorship messages.

Mathieu Verbraken from Daktronics remarked on the successful partnership: “We would like to thank the PCB and Quadra Technologies for their continued trust and confidence in Daktronics. It was gratifying to work together on the upgrade of these stadiums, preparing for this historic ICC Champions Trophy.”

Alongside the displays, each stadium has received Daktronics Show Control systems to integrate the screens and streamline live event production. This advanced control system merges display control software with world-class video processing, ensuring smooth operations during events.

These upgrades come as part of the PCB’s commitment to providing world-class facilities and enhancing viewer engagement, both live at the field and for the millions of fans tuning in globally. The ICC Champions Trophy marked the official launch of this investment, highlighting Pakistan’s continued effort to modernize its cricketing infrastructure and improve the overall fan experience.

The installation of the LED displays is not just about aesthetics; it reflects the PCB's strategy to attract more global audiences and rekindle interest among cricket fans within the country. With the promise of more dynamic viewing experiences, the PCB is poised for greater successes on and off the pitch.

The move has been welcomed by cricket aficionados who believe it will significantly uplift the match-day atmosphere and provide richer, more engaging content. From live replays to interactive content, patrons can look forward to enhanced entertainment as they attend games.

The collaborative renovation project signifies the fruitful partnership between Daktronics and Quadra Technologies, marking another milestone for both companies as they continue to lead the way in sports technology and entertainment solutions. Moving forward, the PCB is solidifying its reputation as a leading cricket board, ready to embrace technological advancements to provide the best possible spectator experience.

With the ICC Champions Trophy setting the stage, cricket lovers worldwide can expect to see the benefits of these recent enhancements as they watch exciting matches at these upgraded venues. It is yet another step for sports infrastructure modernization as cricket continues to evolve as one of the world's most beloved sports.
