Vietnam Hosts Major International Exhibitions On Processing And Packaging

ProPak Vietnam and Plastics & Rubber Vietnam 2025 showcase sustainable innovations and global collaboration

Ho Chi Minh City is buzzing with energy as it hosts two major international exhibitions aimed at revolutionizing the processing and packaging industries. From March 18 to 20, 2025, ProPak Vietnam 2025—the 18th International Exhibition on Processing and Packaging Technology—and Plastics & Rubber Vietnam 2025, along with DrinkTech Vietnam 2025, are set to attract global attention.

Organized by Informa Markets Vietnam, these exhibitions feature over 410 exhibiting units from 29 countries and territories. The events serve not only as thorough showcases of cutting-edge technologies but also as valuable networking opportunities for industry professionals. A notable highlight is the participation of 11 international group pavilions, including exhibitors from countries like Germany, South Korea, and China.

“This year's exhibitions not only bring together leading suppliers of raw materials but also the latest advancements catering to the food, beverage, and pharmaceutical sectors,” said Ben Wong, General Director of Informa Market Vietnam. With Vietnam aspiring to reach net-zero emissions by 2050, the exhibitions embody the urgent demand for innovation and sustainability within the industry.

The ProPak Vietnam 2025 event is set to showcase the latest technologies, covering a broad spectrum from packaging and food processing to logistics and cold supply chains. Attendees and exhibitors alike will explore advancements such as sustainable materials and innovative processing techniques. This aligns with Vietnam's goal of adapting to climate change by transforming its industrial practices.

Simultaneously, the DrinkTech Vietnam 2025 will host significant discussions on beverage technology innovations, ensuring the food and beverage industry can keep pace with global standards. The conference will address themes like "Beverage Industry Innovation: Policies, Technology & Sustainable Packaging," which are particularly relevant as global consumption patterns evolve.

The intertwining of ProPak and Plastics & Rubber Vietnam exemplifies the significant link between the packaging and rubber industries. Many companies have expressed the need to embrace sustainable manufacturing solutions. “Guests will seek solutions for enhancing processes and developing eco-friendly materials. Our aim is to augment the value and sustainability of businesses through these exhibitions,” Wong explained.

Industry experts are optimistic about the opportunity to bridge connections through the Business Matching program, which provides direct one-on-one connections between buyers and suppliers worldwide. Participants will be able to optimize their networks and explore strategic partnerships. This hands-on approach could redefine business practices moving forward.

Equally, Le Thi Nhu Hanh, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Packaging Association, stresses the necessity of networking with international partners. "Trade exhibitions like these open doors for domestic and foreign enterprises to update market trends and seek new strategic partnerships, particularly as our industries adapt to increased competition,” she noted.

Even amid the promising advancements, challenges persist. Tran Viet Anh, Chairman of the Vietnam Waste Recycling Association, highlighted the environmental demands of the plastics and rubber industries. He noted, “The uptick in plastic consumption has raised concerns over waste management and recycling.” The association aims to collaborate across sectors to encourage sustainable practices and responsible consumption.

Vietnam’s initiative to reduce plastic waste through recycling and innovative packaging solutions aims to confront both domestic and international scrutiny. The exhibitions provide not just technologies but also the frameworks for industry players to engage with sustainable practices.

According to Nguyen Van Viet, President of the Vietnam Beer - Alcohol - Beverage Association (VBA), the ProPak and Plastics & Rubber Vietnam exhibitions have positioned Vietnam as a pivotal venue for advancing green and sustainable packaging solutions. “This event consolidates our efforts on multiple levels; we’re embracing not just the business side but also the ecological responsibility needed for future growth,” he stated.

With countries heading toward net zero emissions, the exhibitions will serve as poignant reminders of the collective responsibility to innovate and develop future-ready solutions.
