Florida congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna is demanding the release of the FBI's long-hidden case files about convicted pedophile and accused sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein. As the head of President Donald Trump's newly formed bipartisan Task Force on the Declassification of Federal Secrets, she asserts that it is crucial for the public to learn the truth about Epstein's notorious blackmail operation and to reveal any A-list celebrities, power brokers, and politicians involved in his illicit activities.
In an exclusive interview, Luna overshadowed a recently stalled request from U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi for the FBI's complete Epstein dossier. Instead of comprehensive compliance, the FBI provided limited, already known files to the public. Reports indicate that thousands of documents, allegedly locked away in a vault beneath the Jacob K. Javits Federal Building in Manhattan, remain undisclosed. This unreleased cache is said to contain more than 12,000 never-before-seen documents and surveillance footage showcasing Epstein's deeds.
“The Department of Justice needs to release these files. Jeffrey Epstein was a bad person, and people belong in jail for what was done – regardless of what station they occupied in life,” said Luna, emphasizing the need for accountability.
The FBI's inadequate response is troubling to many, as it is alleged that their New York field office has withheld crucial evidence related to the Epstein case. In 2019, when law enforcement raided Epstein's properties, they confiscated footage that has yet to be made public. The financier's untimely death in his New York City jail cell in the same year while awaiting trial intensified suspicions regarding the handling of the case.
Notorious for his connections to powerful individuals, Epstein mingled with influential elites, including Britain's Prince Andrew, former CIA Director William Burns, and former President Bill Clinton. Despite the network of powerful associates, no famous figures have been implicated in crimes associated with Epstein, and all denied any misconduct or involvement. However, Luna voiced her belief that the anticipated release of documents could challenge the narratives constructed by these high-profile individuals.
“I'm hearing the files name people among the rich and powerful, and obtaining them will be a true test of whether or not justice is truly blind in this nation,” she stated.
Aside from the Epstein case, Luna's task force is working toward fulfilling President Trump's executive order to declassify files concerning notable historical events, including the assassinations of President John F. Kennedy, Robert F. Kennedy, and civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr. She stressed that the federal government has concealed information for too long: “It is time to give Americans the answers they deserve.”
Amidst this push for transparency, Luna noted that the task force would also examine topics like 9/11, unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAPs), and the origins of COVID-19—subjects she believes have been shrouded in secrecy unnecessarily.
“We have been informed of the existence of whistleblower reports stating that the CIA hid and even destroyed evidence in the aftermath of JFK's death,” she explained, hinting at the potential for explosive revelations about historical events that reshaped American history.
Additionally, the task force has called for testimony from surviving physicians involved in JFK's treatment, many of whom reportedly contest the Warren Commission's ruling on the assassination. Luna expressed that garnering these insights is vital to restoring public trust in the government.
“In a free and fair society, the government must be transparent and work for the people – rather than operate in the shadows. We need to do better – and it starts now,” said Luna.
This recent demand for Epstein's files dovetails with other developments in the Trump administration’s commitment to transparency. The administration had previously released over 80,000 pages of files regarding the Kennedy assassination, making the public eager for what might come next concerning Jeffrey Epstein.
Bondi confirmed that the FBI has been diligently reviewing and redacting sensitive information in the Epstein files, with many agents working overtime to ensure they comply with necessary protocols while safeguarding the identity and personal information of victims. She assured the public that updates on this significant release will be forthcoming.
“The FBI has been working round the clock at my directive, at [FBI Director] Kash Patel’s directive,” Bondi stated, emphasizing their commitment to protecting victims and ensuring transparency. She added that the sensitive nature of the files requires careful handling to prevent the exposure of personal information.
With the focus remaining steadfastly on Epstein, many are left wondering whether the revelations the task force and the FBI may soon unveil will disrupt the status quo, revealing the complex network of relationships Epstein cultivated and the extent of his alleged criminal activities.
As Luna stated, addressing the potential outcomes of these investigations, “We definitely have a fight ahead of us – but we are not backing down!”
