Breeze Airways Expands Service To North Carolina

New nonstop flights from Bradley to Greensboro kick off summer travel season.

Breeze Airways is making significant strides by launching new nonstop flights from Bradley International Airport (BDL) to Piedmont Triad International Airport (GSO) near Greensboro, North Carolina. This seasonal service is set to begin on June 6, 2025, just as the summer travel season takes off.

With the new routes, Breeze will operate twice weekly flights on Mondays and Fridays. The airline's CEO and founder, David Neeleman, expressed excitement over the expansion, stating, "Hartford is one of our largest bases and we continue to see growing demand for more service from Connecticut. With Breeze's great product offering and added affordability, we're excited to continue offering travelers in Connecticut premium and convenient travel options to popular destinations like Greensboro."

The service from BDL to GSO adds to Breeze's increasing number of nonstop flights from Bradley, aimed at meeting the demands of Connecticut travelers. Breeze has been rapidly increasing its operations since arriving at Bradley nearly four years ago, now offering flights to various destinations across North Carolina, including New Bern, Raleigh-Durham, and Wilmington.

Michael Shea, the Executive Director of the Connecticut Airport Authority, highlighted the significance of Breeze's continued commitment to the airport: "We greatly appreciate Breeze's continuous investment at Bradley International Airport and the growing nonstop options they offer our travelers."

The new routes out of Greensboro will also provide non-stop flights from GSO to Orlando International Airport (MCO), also commencing on June 6 with the same operational schedule. This move not only benefits travelers headed for fun-filled vacations but also expands Breeze's network across popular destinations.

Breeze Airways now boasts 69 destinations nationwide, underscoring its impressive growth since its inception. The latest routes not only consolidate its presence in North Carolina but also capitalize on the promising summer travel market. Lukas Johnson, Breeze's Chief Commercial Officer, noted, "We continue to see massive growth in the Mid-Atlantic region and are excited to welcome Piedmont Triad International Airport (GSO) to our growing list of cities."
Adding these new destinations will strengthen Breeze’s foothold as it competes with established airlines serving GSO—American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, United Airlines, and Allegiant Air—although Breeze will not face direct competition on either of its new routes. Allegiant Air does fly nonstop from Greensboro to the nearby Orlando Sanford International Airport (SFB).

To intensify its offerings for the summer season, Breeze will also be ramping up its existing flights to Orlando. Starting June 4, Breeze is set to double its service between MCO and Portland International Jetport (PWM) from two to four weekly round trips. The flights will be spread across Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.

With these new flights and expansions, Breeze Airways is positioning itself as a formidable player, enhancing connectivity within the region and offering travelers more choices. Clearly, the carrier is not only keeping pace with the travel industry's recovery but is actively shaping the future of air travel from its growing bases.
