Brazilian Beaches Ranked Among Most Photographed

Google Maps reveals top ten most photographed beaches by user submissions from 2010 to 2025.

Google Maps has unveiled its list of the most photographed beaches across Brazil, generating excitement among travel enthusiasts and locals alike. The ranking, based on user-uploaded photos from January 2010 to January 2025, showcases not only the stunning landscapes but also the growing popularity of these coastal treasures.

Leading the list is Praia das Laranjeiras, situated in Balneário Camboriú, Santa Catarina, famous for its picturesque scenery and vibrant atmosphere. This beach took first place, followed closely by other notable locations such as Praia Guarda do Embaú and Praia Martim de Sá. These beaches exemplify the natural beauty and appeal of Brazil's coastline, establishing themselves as must-visit destinations.

According to Bahia Notícias, “Coroa Vermelha beach, located at Santa Cruz Cabrália, Bahia, ranks as the 7th most photographed beach.” This beach stands out as the only representative from Bahia, and its historical significance cannot be overlooked. It is famously known as the site of Brazil's first mass. This fact adds layers to its allure, drawing both domestic and international visitors.

Interestingly, only three beaches from Northeast Brazil, including Coroa Vermelha, made it to the top ten. This reflects not only the vibrancy of the southern coast but also highlights the rich diversity of Brazil's tropical sea destinations. The inclusion of Pontal do Maragogi—ranked 9th—further emphasizes the recognition of destinations from the Northeast. The local charm of Maragogi lies within its crystal-clear waters and the unique natural pools created during low tide, significantly enhancing its photographic appeal.

“Pontal do Maragogi, referencing a specific area within Maragogi, ranks 9th, showcasing its stunning natural beauty,” reported by Agência. This beach is often referred to as the “Brazilian Caribbean,” and it perfectly lives up to its nickname with its dazzling scenery.

Closing the top ten is the renowned Praia do Atalaia, located in Salinópolis, Pará. According to Jornal Folha do Progresso, this beach “stands out for its breathtaking beauty and ecological significance.” This designation has helped propel Salinópolis onto the national stage, making it another exemplary spot for ecotourism within Brazil.

The Praia do Atalaia is not just about scenery; it serves as a sanctuary for marine turtles. Conservation efforts implemented here, including the temporary vehicle restrictions, show the dedication to preserving its natural habitats.
