Berlin Stores Open For Easter Shopping Convenience

Numerous supermarkets and stores in Berlin will remain open during the Easter holiday weekend, providing essential shopping options for residents and travelers alike.

As Easter approaches, Berliners can breathe a sigh of relief knowing that numerous stores will remain open during the holiday weekend. For those who find themselves in need of last-minute essentials, a variety of supermarkets, drugstores, and even plant centers will be accessible, particularly at major train stations throughout the city.

The Rewe supermarket located in the main train station will be open on Good Friday, April 18, 2025, Easter Sunday, April 20, 2025, and Easter Monday, April 21, 2025, from 8 AM to 10 PM. This offers a convenient shopping option for those traveling or simply in need of supplies.

Another option is Denns Biomarkt, which will also be open on Easter Sunday from 8 AM to 10 PM. Additionally, Rossmann, a popular drugstore chain, will operate on Good Friday from 7 AM to 10 PM, and on Easter Sunday and Monday from 8 AM to 10 PM, ensuring that customers can pick up health and beauty items during the holiday.

For those looking for beauty products, Parfümerie Douglas at the main train station will be open on Good Friday, Easter Sunday, and Easter Monday, from 10 AM to 7 PM. This makes it easy for last-minute gift shoppers to find something special.

Shoppers in the Friedrichstraße train station will find Edeka open on Good Friday, Easter Sunday, and Easter Monday from 8 AM to 10 PM. Rossmann in this location will have slightly different hours, opening at 6 AM on Good Friday and 8 AM on Easter Sunday and Monday, closing at 9 PM each day.

At Alexanderplatz station, Rossmann will be open from 7 AM to 9 PM on Good Friday, and from 9 AM to 9 PM on both Easter Sunday and Monday. Meanwhile, the Denns Biomarkt at Gesundbrunnen station will also be available from 8 AM to 10 PM on those same days, providing ample opportunity for shoppers.

In Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg, the Rewe at Ostbahnhof will have extended hours, opening at 6 AM on Good Friday, and remaining open until 10 PM. On Easter Sunday, it will operate from 6 AM to midnight, and on Easter Monday, it will again open at 6 AM until 10 PM. Penny at Ostbahnhof will have similar hours, open from 7 AM to 11 PM on all three holiday days.

Shoppers can also visit Denns Biomarkt at Ostkreuz station, which will be open from 7 AM to 10 PM on Good Friday, Easter Sunday, and Easter Monday, making it another viable option for last-minute grocery runs.

In the Tempelhof-Schöneberg district, Edeka at Südkreuz station will be open from 8 AM to 10 PM on all three holiday days. The dm drugstore at the same location will offer slightly shorter hours, open from 8 AM to 8 PM on Good Friday and from 9 AM to 8 PM on Easter Sunday and Monday.

Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf residents can shop at the Hit-Supermarkt Ullrich at Zoologischer Garten station, which will be open from 8 AM to 10 PM on Good Friday, Easter Sunday, and Easter Monday. The Denns Biomarkt at the same location will maintain the same hours, ensuring plenty of options for shoppers.

Additionally, plant lovers can visit Der Holländer plant center in Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf and Treptow-Köpenick, both of which will be open from 10 AM to 4 PM on Good Friday, Easter Sunday, and Easter Monday. This provides a perfect opportunity to spruce up home gardens or simply enjoy some fresh greenery.

On the other hand, the situation in Munich is quite different. Due to strict holiday regulations in Bavaria, most supermarkets and stores will remain closed on Good Friday, Easter Sunday, and Easter Monday. However, bakeries are allowed to open on these holidays for a limited time. They can operate starting at 5:30 AM for a maximum of three hours on Good Friday and Easter Sunday but will be closed on Easter Monday.

For those in need of a quick snack or drink, some kiosks in Munich will be open 24 hours, including the Kiosk at Reichenbachbrücke and the Kiosk Münchner Freiheit. These locations provide a reliable option for those who need something to tide them over during the holiday closures.

Despite the restrictions, shoppers can still find some options at Munich Central Station. The Edeka branch located in the basement of the station will be open from 8 AM to 11 PM during the Easter holidays. Additionally, Rewe to go at the main train station offers around-the-clock shopping, ensuring that even late-night travelers have access to essentials.

Vinzenz Murr, located in the mezzanine of Munich Central Station, will be open from 7 AM to 10 PM, while the Edeka at Ostbahnhof will also be accessible from 8 AM to 11 PM. Furthermore, travelers at Munich Airport can shop at Rewe, which opens at 5:30 AM on the holidays, allowing for convenient access to travel necessities.

As the Easter holiday approaches, it’s clear that while Berlin offers a wealth of shopping options to accommodate last-minute needs, Munich’s restrictions create a more limited landscape. Shoppers in Berlin can enjoy the convenience of various stores open throughout the holiday weekend, while those in Munich will need to plan carefully to ensure they have everything they need.
