Atomy Donates Record 100 Million Won For Wildfire Relief

The company also contributes essential supplies worth 35.5 million won to support affected families and firefighters.

Atomy, a South Korean comprehensive distribution company, made a significant charitable contribution on March 28, 2025, donating 100 million won (approximately $85,000) to the Community Chest of Korea. This donation aims to assist in the recovery from the devastating wildfires that recently affected the Yeongnam region, marking it as the largest single donation in the history of Love's Heat disaster relief funds.

In addition to the monetary donation, Atomy also provided relief supplies valued at 35.5 million won (around $30,000) to support evacuees and firefighters battling the wildfires. The essential items donated included bottled water, wet wipes, ramen, and soy milk, which are crucial for those affected by the disaster.

Atomy's donations stemmed from a fundraising initiative led by its members, specifically through the 'Atomy SOS Sharing Group'. This group began raising funds after learning about the wildfire damage affecting fellow members residing in the impacted areas. The swift decision to donate 100 million won was made by Chairman Park Han-gil in response to the urgent need for support.

Chairman Park expressed his heartfelt sentiments regarding the donation, stating, "I hope this contribution can offer some comfort to those who are currently fighting the wildfires and to the evacuees who have lost their homes. Atomy, as a company that values the soul, will continue to share and support recovery efforts alongside our 3 million members."

The donation will be allocated to various areas of need, including support for families of deceased firefighters, medical expenses for the injured, relief and restoration efforts in wildfire-affected areas, assistance for evacuees, and the restoration of children's facilities in the Gyeongnam region.

Atomy's charitable activities are not new; since 2019, the company has donated a total of 300 million won to the Community Chest of Korea. This includes 100 million won allocated to the 'MOM Fund', which supports single mothers, and another 100 million won for youth group support.

Moreover, both Chairman Park and Vice Chairman Do Kyung-hee have personally contributed over 10 million won each, earning them recognition as members of the 'Honor Society of Optimus'. Their entire family, spanning three generations, participated in the charitable efforts by donating 1 million won each, thereby being registered in the Family Honor Society.

Atomy's commitment to philanthropy extends beyond national borders. The company has donated over 20 million dollars to the international children's welfare organization, Korea Compassion, which supports 11,000 children. Annually, Atomy contributes 66 million won to this cause, demonstrating its dedication to social responsibility.

In terms of corporate donations, Atomy stands out in the distribution industry. Over the past three years, the company has maintained a donation ratio of 1.8% compared to its average sales, significantly surpassing the industry average of 0.06%. In 2023, Atomy's donation ratio was recorded at 1.4%, the highest among the top 500 companies in South Korea.

As the wildfires continue to wreak havoc, the swift and generous actions by Atomy provide a beacon of hope for those affected. The company's proactive approach in supporting its community through financial aid and essential supplies highlights the importance of corporate responsibility in times of crisis.

In a world where disasters can strike unexpectedly, Atomy's commitment to aiding those in need serves as an inspiring example of how businesses can contribute positively to society. The company not only focuses on its commercial success but also prioritizes the welfare of its community, ensuring that they stand together in times of adversity.
