Amazon is gearing up to launch its Prime Air drone delivery service across the UK by the end of the year, marking another step forward for the technology. The UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has chosen Amazon to participate in trials intended to explore the delivery capabilities of drones beyond the visual line of sight.
The recent announcement states Amazon will be among six organizations involved in these significant drone trials. These tests will allow drones to operate without the pilot having to maintain sight of them, showcasing advancements in drone technology.

Amazon plans to roll out its drone delivery service across fulfillment centers located within 12 kilometers of customer residences. This is expected to allow for fast deliveries, often within just one hour of placing orders.
The company’s new MK30 drone boasts enhancements, capable of carrying approximately 2.2 kilograms and operating efficiently even under bad weather conditions. This feature could significantly expand the range of environments where the drone can deliver packages.
